Chapter 1

“Hey!! Watch where you’re going!” I yelled at the stupid girl who just toppled me over. Seriously! People are just blind these days or they are not taught any words close to ‘excuse me’ in their life. I really did not want to be here right now. I would happily read a book at home on my comfy bed. But no, my so called stupid best friend had to drag me to her favorite singer’s performance. I had to drive three hours to reach this place. My legs were killing me right now and I was in no mood to be stamped to death. We were still waiting for those guards to open the gate. The girls were crazy about this guy. I agree. He was HOT! But not that much that you had die for a glimpse of his hot self!

“Aimee!! Just hold on to my hand and don’t let go!” I could hear Chelsea screaming over the ruckus of the girls around us. “Yeah sure! No problem, I’ll just wait here holding your hand it’s not like I have any other better place to be” I said sarcastically. I felt like I was on the Titanic right now and I would just drown in this crowd. God why the hell is it so hot over here?

Because there is a girl pressed right up against you! You Dufus!

Oh! Yeah Right! “Will you please stand on your own feet?” I asked very sweetly with a smile. I hope it was a smile but probably it looked like a grimace. She just ignored me and was literally on top of me right now.

I pushed her off. Probably there was no place for even a tiny ant to stand at that place.

“Hey they opened the gates!” I heard somebody yell loudly.

Thank god I’ll be able to breathe properly now.

But Oh Boy was I wrong. The situation got even worse if I may say so.

That’s it. I’m not going to make it.

Goodbye mom, dad. I’m going to miss you. Goodbye chocolate. I won’t be able to pet you every day from now on. Goodbye world. Nana here I come.

I could feel someone tugging my hand and I realized I had closed my eyes. When I opened them I found my evil friend pulling me towards the gate. This girl has the strength of 10 bulls when it comes to his concert.

I trudged along with her. Finally we came into some open space with hundreds of girls screaming their heads off cheering for their favorite singer. I couldn’t see the stage properly from here. But I knew Chelsea would not quit just yet. All I could see was dots on the stage instead of faces. She started pushing people making her way towards the front near the stage. I probably looked like I was stranded in some jungle for 5 months.

We finally reached a spot where we could see the stage clearly. The show was yet to start. I just stood there sulking. I was looking around when I could hear someone calling my name. I looked to my right to see Chelsea craning her neck towards the stage to get a glimpse of her favorite star. But he had yet to come out on stage. I looked to my right and saw some blond haired boy waving his hands above his head like a maniac. When I looked closer my face sprouted a large smile and I waved back. I was so happy to see my old best friend Jake here of all places. I motioned him over to where we were standing. But he showed his walkie-talkie and I realized that he was working here. “Hey I saw an old friend of mine. I’ll go catch up to him. If I am not able to find you I’ll meet you near the car. Okay?” I yelled. Chelsea looked at me and towards Jake and nodded happily. I was kind of scared to leave her by herself. But I realized she’ll be able to handle some crazy fans like herself.

I moved towards Jake and was surprised when I was pulled into a huge hug and spun around. I was giggling all the while he was spinning me. I was extremely happy to see my best friend after such a long time. When my dad had been promoted to a higher position, we had to shift and I had to leave behind some of my awesome friends among whish were Jake. It’s not like I don’t have amazing friends now. It’s just that the thing of old friends is something else all together.

“What the hell are you doing here?” I asked smiling after he put me down. “I could ask you the same question” he said laughing. I missed his laugh so much.

“Well my best friend Chelsea is a huge fan of Jesse so she dragged me along to his performance”

“Oh! I knew you would never come to these kinds of things by yourself”, he said smiling.

“You know me too well Jake, but if you were here why didn’t you come to see me?” I said pouting.

 “I wanted to actually come and visit you but I wanted to get over with this concert”, he explained.

“But how did you end up here?”

“Actually” he said scratching the back of his head “I came here because of a girl…” he said shyly.

“Aww Jake how sweet!” I said hitting his arm playfully.

“I want to know everything” I said excitedly.

There was some kind of disturbance in the walkie-talkie.

“One minute Aimee”

“Yeah tell me” Jake said into the walkie-talkie.

“Hey there is an emergency. Three of our men had to get out due to some kind of commotion outside the gate I need you to go and check out the back door right away” a man said hurriedly.

“But I had to be near the stage “Jake said frowning.

“Oh damn! The show’s about to start any minute now! Can you find anyone to take over your job for some time? I’ll owe you one man”

“Okay I’ll see what I can do”,

Jake sighed loudly. I looked over to him to see him frowning. He looked at me with a strange expression.

“Aimee will you please do me a favor?” he asked pleadingly.

“Anything”, I said shrugging.

“Will you please cover my duty near the stage? Please I’ll owe you one. Please Aimee don’t say no”, he begged.

Me? Near the stage while Jesse was performing? WOW! Any girl would kill to be in my place right now!

 “I’ve never done that type of work before Jake. Hell! I don’t even know what to do” I said throwing my hands in the air to emphasize my point.

“Don’t worry you don’t have to do much. You have to just stand there and see that no one enters the stage that’s all. If there’s any kind of problem just use the walkie-talkie and inform me. I’ll send someone to check out the problem. Alright?” he asked me.

“O…kay”, I said unsure of myself.

“Alright then just take this with you and head over to the stage” he said handing me the device and nodding towards the stage.

“But what about my friend Chelsea? She’s right there. Can I take her with me?”

First, if she realizes that I had a chance to go up to the stage while her favorite singer was on stage she would probably... Say murder me…? And I’m not exaggerating. She would really do so.

Second, I personally had no interest to go and see Jesse up close. There were thousands of girls out there who would love to be in my place right now.

But I had to do it for Jake. He literally begged me to do this. I couldn’t ignore the look he was giving me. God!!

“Okay fine Jake I’ll do it” I sighed.

“Thank you so much Aimee, you’re an awesome friend”, he said grinning goofily and I couldn’t help but grin back.

Oh the things I do for my friends!!

“Okay then take this and go to the stage and tell a guy called Ryan that I sent you there okay?” Jake said handing the walkie-talkie and some type of pass that strangely looked like some type of ID.

I nodded and started towards the stage.
