Mercy Moore was trying to make a name for herself. Growing up told she wouldn't be successful going into the arts, she did her best to disregard the mindset that the best way to live life successfully was to do so with scientific practicality, graduating from a prestigious art school with a handful of degrees. Seeking to not only open her own art gallery, but to have some of her pieces in someone else's as well, Mercy threw herself into her work with the intention to do just that.

Then Pepper Potts paid her a visit. Mercy wasn't expecting a visit from one of the most successful self-made women in the media, nor did she expect someone from her past resurface after more than a decade; someone had been stealing components for a weapon with the power that could do more than enough damage to wipe out the city. But Mercy was not one to back down from a challenge, determined to prove them wrong.

Thus began a race against time, the two women doing everything in their power to stop such a machine from being built, with Mercy trying to re-evaluate her definition of success and Pepper wondering just how much space she needed. But time is a luxury they cannot afford, if they wanted to make it out unscathed.

We're not gonna talk about the fact that I just put this together yesterday, despite this fic being in the works for forever (y'all think I'm joking, but it's been like over six months), but it's honestly gonna be the cutest thing. I thought it would be interesting to touch upon Pepper and Tony's relationship in this as well, especially since they really do play such a large role in each other's lives, regardless of the fact that they're not a couple at the moment, so there will definitely be scenes with the two of them. (I'm also terrified to write both of them, but I'm hyped for this fic, so we're just gonna do our best when the time comes and like, sob if it doesn't turn out right-another thing we're not gonna talk about, okay)

Also, I haven't decided yet, but I do think I will end up having a Tony Stark fic and like, have it take place as an AU or something, so I'm not sure yet, but I do have a young!Tony Stark fic in the works that will take place a little later than Human Condition, my young!Happy Hogan fic, but that's easily liable to change should some things not work out.
