Mjolnir was missing. Thor's legendary hammer had suddenly vanished as he teared across all the nine realms to try and find his hammer, but alas, it was gone. While Thor didn't exactly need Mjolnir to show his strength as the God of Thunder, it certainly helped enforce his reputation as a "Jotun killer". Lo and behold, a Jotun by the name of Thrymr had appeared wielding Mjolnir and demanded the gods to bring him Freya, Queen of the Valkyries, so that she may be his wife.

Thor: What do you mean you won't do it?

Freya: I'm not being his bride. You could always have another hammer, Thor.

Freyr: There's power forged into that hammer, sister. Power that the Jotun could use against us. Not even you and your Valkyries could stand against the might of Mjolnir.

Loki: Maybe, you don't need to be married to that Jotun, Freya.

Freya: What do you mean, Loki?

Loki: *smiles* I'm glad you asked! You see, I could use my shapeshifting magic to make Thor invisible and have him secretly accompany you. When he presents Mjolnir as a gift to you, he'll jump out and grab it and slay every giant there! Problem solved.

Thor: Not a bad idea, Loki. What do you say, Freya?

Freya: My hand is already spoken for. Maybe you can shapeshift someone to look like me, Loki.

Loki: I'm sure I can do something. Freyr? You willing to pose as your sister for a bit?

Freyr: If Thor is killing Jotuns, then I cannot be a part of it.

Loki: Come on, do it for your sister.

Freyr: Not even for Freya.

???: I can do it.

Entering the halls of Asgard late at night was a mortal favored by the gods, Y/n. Y/n was a famed dragonslayer, wiping away dragons as if they were nothing, driving them almost to extinction. When asked by Odin why he slew so many dragons, Y/n responded with that their scales and teeth and other magical properties were for Freya, so that he may be her husband, if not any Valkyrie to be his wife. Freya, while impressed with a mortal man killing something like dragons, was not an easily impressed woman. So, she challenged him to a duel which ended in the two crossing their swords and falling in love with one another.

Freya didn't want to be the one that went to Jotunheim in case Y/n saw it as her being unfaithful, but seeing as her own beloved husband-to-be is offering to go in her place, maybe she should've gone through with it and he would understand after she explained the entire thing.

Loki: Hmm, we might need to cover your face with a veil. Just to make sure, give me your best Freya impersonation.

Y/n: *Freya voice* I am Freya, Queen of the Valkyries. And soon, Y/n will be the King of the Valkyries.

Loki: Wow, I'm impressed! Matched her note for note, tone for tone!

Y/n: Dragonslaying has its benefits, one of them is a wide array of voices.

Loki: Great, now we can muster a plan together! When did that giant say you had to be in Jotunheim, Freya?

Freya: Whenever I was ready.

Loki: Great, let's get you ready to be the blushing bride, Y/n.

Y/n: Glad someone is having fun with this.

Days went by as Loki enlisted the help of the goddess Frigg to teach Y/n how a woman should act during marriage, while Loki learned how to apply what is essentially makeup to have Y/n look a bit more feminine in his facial features, in case the veil were to be taken off. Before Loki, Thor, and Y/n would depart for Jotunheim, Y/n thought it would be nice to see his Freya to try and get a kick out of the Queen of the Valkyries before he left. He went where she would always be; training in the Asgard grounds.
