Prologue: A True Normal Day
The following is a work of fiction. Any similarities to Real-life events, people living or dead, or places are purely coincidental. (Man I always wanted to say that!)
'Badaring badaring!' An alarm sounded in a room that was simply lit by the light shining through the drapes. An arm reached out and grabbed the phone that the sound was coming from.
"Already...man this sucks," a sleepy voice mumbled as he sat up in bed. His blonde hair was a mess with tufts sticking up and curling all over the place. The only thing that seemed to fit were a cluster of hairs by the center of his hairline that jutted out in an upside down 'V'. He begrudgingly stood up and turned on his light. Squinting his navy blue eyes as the light filled the room. He then sat on his bed half asleep until his Mom busted into his room without knocking.
"Honey don't forget it's Saturday so be sure to do all your chores around the house,"
"Ah come on, do I have to?" The boy complained.
"Zad,"
"Fine, fine I'll get goin'," Zad replied as he got dressed in a black t-shirt with the words "West Mountain High School Theater Company presents, Dippin" on it in glittery silver letters with the date. November 13th & 14th 3014 underneath. He also slipped into a pair of blue jeans, combed his hair into a presentable state. Still, with his strangely fitting bangs complete the odd upside down 'V'. He brushed his teeth, put on deodorant. He then put on his sneakers and was ready to leave the house.
"Don't forget the toilet paper!" His mom called after him as Zad nodded and hopped onto his bike.
Truth is even in this world he lives in seemingly set 1000 years ahead of us. His life is no different. He's just an ordinary boy. Living a boring mundane uninteresting life.
He got the stuff from the store and went home with speed and then decided to head over to his Aunt and Uncle's. Upon ringing the doorbell a boy answered the door who looked to be about two years younger than Zad who was fourteen himself. He had deep brown eyes and well parted blonde hair. His face was the kind of face that you could look at and instantly know that you could trust that person.
"Hey Zad what's going on?" The boy asked.
"Nothing much just got done going the store for my mom how's things over here,"
"Oh you know, same old, same old, hey the Pup's game is about to start!" the boy said.
"Really I didn't even know they were playing yet?" Zad responded.
"Yep, It's their opening game against the Robin's it's gonna be a good one,"
"Max!" A man's voice called.
"Oh sorry, coming Dad!" Max called back running down.
"Zad how are you today," Zad's Aunt asked as Zad walked into the living room.
"I'm great Aunt Sarah," Zad responded giving his Aunt a hug.
"What brings you here,"
"Just thought I'd stop by it's pretty boring over at my place since my Dad got that promotion," Zad laughed.
"Well it's always nice to see you," Sarah replied as Max returned.
"Alright my Dad just wanted my help holding something for this thing he's fixing," Max said. "So let's turn on the game!"
"Not until we're done watching my show little boy," Aunt Sarah replied.
"Okay fine," Max answered back as if it wasn't that much of a problem to him. "So hey Zad you think I have a chance?"
"You're still on about that?" Zad laughed.
"Well come on, I mean I really love her,"
"Dude you're in 8th grade. What do you know about love,"
"Just as much as you Mr.I-miss-my-friend-Katie-she's-the-best-but-I'm-totally-not-in-love-with-her," Max taunted.
"I'm not, she was just a really good friend ya know? That's all a really good friend,"
"Yeah sure whatever you say man, but anyways what if I buy her flowers,"
"You really should quit while you're ahead Coz,"
"Yeah, yeah whatever,"
"Boys can you quiet down!?" Aunt Sarah demanded as the news came on.
"Right sorry about that," Max replied.
"Sorry Aunt Sarah," Zad responded as the news anchor lady started speaking."BREAKING NEWS! This just in another 5 of the Provinces have just been hit with the phenomena known as the White Waves.
