Chapter 4: The Butter Man

Returning to Zad, Lyra, Steven, and Rodri

"I feel tingly for some reason... is it just me?" Steven asked as his fingers wiggled in the air.

"No... I feel it too. What could it mean?" Lyra replied, looking at herself and her brother alternatively. After a moment, the tingly feeling strengthened, mimicking a static shock from touching a doorknob after rubbing a balloon, before disappearing entirely.

"GAH!" Both Steven and Lyra exclaimed at the sudden pain, however it was only the two that reacted. Zad was watching with an eyebrow raised and Rodri was just being Rodri. The remaining two of the triplets gazed at the other boys, then at each other, before a particular thought struck them at the same time.

"'DON!'" They both shouted in unison.

"Are we feeling some of what he's feeling?" Lyra pondered, worried at the implication in conjunction with the pain she just felt.

"Could be, like our triplet sixth sense got some kind of upgrade. We've always had some kind of feeling on where one of us was, or if mom chewed one of us out, but if that's true then that means..." Steven couldn't finish the thought, shaking his head and clenching his fists in rage. "I'm gonna beat them all for laying even a finger on him!" His voice raised just like the wrathful feeling in his chest. Tears surged from his eyes he started dashing ahead.

"Then, in that case, we should pick up the pace," Zad said as he threw his pack off. "These are just weighing us down,"

"But what are we gonna do for food?" Rodri asked, his metaphorical hand hovering over the panic button threateningly.

"The next town isn't too far from here. We can eat there," Zad answered. "Come on! Let's go!" He quickly caught up to Steven "It'll be okay" he assured patting him on the back and smiling, Steven nodded, as Rodri and Lyra followed closely behind.

[First Mommy and Daddy now, this...please hang in there for as long as possible Donny.] Lyra thought to herself.

Their running was halted as a car pulled in front of them. Out of the car stepped a tall man. He wore a white suit and had a head devoid of hair. He wore black round sunglasses and had a nose that would make even a toucan's beak look small.

"Hmmm, so the employee was right, there were more," The man said looking at the children.

"Who are you?" Zad said ignoring the boy the man continued to talk.

"I shall capture them one by one then," He said, the way he spoke made it seem as if he didn't think the children could understand him. As if they were animals. He then seemingly slid on the ground behind Lyra and hand gagged her, then slid back to his car. Lyra struggled hard to get out of his grasp but her tiny body was sadly overpowered by the man. Steven quickly sprung into action charging forward. The man kicked the boy swiftly to the side but like a spring the boy got back up.

"You may have taken my bro, but I'll die before I let you take my sis from me!" Steven shouted charging the man doing a flaming sweep kick. Instantly upon touching the man the leg seemingly melted away. Steven didn't pay much attention but the other people around him did. The man was knocked off balance giving Lyra a chance to break away. Zad who actually saw the leg that was now reforming melt spoke up.

"Woah his leg totally melted!"

"You're no ordinary brat, are you? Hmmm, you deserve at least the name of the man who will capture you. My name is Imperio, I'm the head of Securing at SL Inc. It is I who will help the shepherd reach his goal,"
