In the never ending darkness, Peeta is my only light.

My mother and Prim have other duties, so they can only visit sometimes. Peeta has almost none. He comes everyday to sit with me. Sometimes, it's just in silence. Even then his presence calms me. He is a familiar in the ever-changing world. Without him, I think I would choke on the thick hospital air.

One day, when I'm feeling especially suffocated, I bring up the subject of leaving.

"What do you mean I can't leave?" I say, glaring at the spot where the doctor's voice is coming from. "I've been in this dumb hospital long enough."

The doctor sighs. "You're a risk to yourself and your family wouldn't be there to help you."

"I'm weak not helpless." I snap, which causes the doctor to sigh again.

"The answer is no."

"She could stay with me," a voice chimes in. I heard Peeta come in a couple of minutes ago but I had forgotten he was here.

The doctor sighs (which he really seems to love doing). "I'll talk to the president."

A couple of hours later I'm being guided by Peeta away from the dank medicated air.

Sorry it's short I wrote it during study hall :)
