"Hey, so-uh yeah, remind me again why I agreed to this?" Sawt asked.

"Um, because you love me, and because you're a boring bag of unflavoured potato chips." she replied nonchalantly.

" But Stell, it's three in the bloody morning!" he complained.

Stella only smirked in return. She sped up her pace, power-walking closer to the bright neon store sign and the automatic doors underneath it.

"Will you at least tell me what we're doing?" he asked, almost defeated. While Sawt was all for living his best life, he wasn't so sure he felt the same way about being woken up in the middle of the goddamn night.

" I'll tell you what you're doing. You are gonna grab us some snacks, lots of them, and then meet me on the other side of the checkout. Get anything really, but Skittles for me, kay? Thanks." she said, handing him a fistful of crumpled, loose change.

"Hey hey, I'll pay." he said, still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes with his other hand.

"Shut up, I'm trying to to make a lifetime investment here." she scolded.

Sawt just thought her ferocity was cute, and accepted the change into his pocket.

"Wait, where are you going then?"

"Me? I'm gonna go get the rest of the ingredients." she smirked at him mischievously.

"Ingredients? What are we, making breakfast now or something?"

"Maybe, just follow what I told you!" she said, now jogging forward past the automatic doors, and getting lost in the various aisles.

Sawt laughed quietly to himself, smiling at his friend's quirky behavior.

After grabbing all the snacks that he could (with an extra special large sized Skittles for Stella), the young man made his way over to the checkout in the front It seemed that Stella had beat him to it though, since she was already on the other side, holding a large dark coloured bag, presumably holding her mysterious purchases. Sawt smiled at her and then proceeded to check out each of his items, and then paying for them.

The entire way back into his car, still parked all in its lonesome, Stella had the biggest smile. While Sawt had seen her smile smile before, he didn't think he ever quite noticed how much happiness it could exude. He couldn't help but reflect the same energy back.

Upon sitting in the car, Stella had to take a minute to catch her breath.

"So, you ready for this or what?" she asked.

" Hell yeah," he replied.

"Yeah!" she yelled, rolling down the windows a little as Sawt started putting the car into drive.
