Chapter two

The prefect meeting which was due to start by seven o'clock didn't commence yet because the head boy- Abosi Alex wasn't around, after waiting for him for thirty minutes and more he finally stepped in and apologized for his lateness.

"Please let's settle down" he said and collected the order of meeting from the head girl Loveth. "Dj please take the opening prayer" Dj stood up and prayed.

"Thanks Dj" he said when she was done "Blessing please don't forget to take minutes of this meeting" he reminded her since she's the secretary of all meetings they have.

"Ok" She replied.

"Firstly we'll welcome Joe Praise, the new ASP into our midst. "Joe Praise please stand up and introduce you to us"

Joe Praise stood up,smiling he glanced at Dj and winked at her.

Huh, idiot such stupid ego

"my name is Joe praise and I'm from Lovenda's International School" people start gossiping because they knew only rich people attend the school. it's the only school that has higher standards than PHC "I came here because my family relocated, I'm looking forward to making friends with you guys and having good times together. I also promise to do my duties as the assistant senior prefect". He finished and everyone gave him a round of applause.

"Yea, yea, yea" Alex said in a way that made them all think of hip-hop and they all laughed "that's good coming from our new ASP , so I think everyone should introduce themselves to Joe, Dj you can start since you're his partner"

Ehn she was annoyed and wasn't even in a good mood "my name is Damelda Johnson, Dj for short. I'm the assistant senior prefect girl and I love music" Where Joe sat, even a blind man could see how he smiled when she mentioned her name.

At last, I finally get to know her name

All other people introduced themselves; they talked about the school, its management and so on. Joe gave an ending speech talking about his plans and ideas to better the school and it was quite appreciated. They also shared snacks and drinks.

The next evening, Dj was on her way to the hostel from the dining hall. As she was passing through the granite tiled road that leads to her hostel, she inhaled the fresh evening scent that hit her nose and made her think of home, humming a tune from one of her favorite Nikki Laoye song Joe showed up beside her and made her stop.

"Hey, Dj" he calls while walking fast to keep up with her pace.

"Hi, what's the problem?" she looked at him scrunching up her face, wondering what the playboy was up to this time.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Like how, how was I looking huh? Besides how do you know I was looking at you if you weren't staring and studying my face?"

He laughed "okay, whatever you say, at last I know your name Dj" he stuck out his tongue and laughed again.

"Okay then, enjoy laughing while I go" she folded her arm and frowned, setting to leave.

"Hey wait" he grabbed her arm pulling her back. "we've got something to do together"

"What?" she asked rudely, she just didn't want anything to do with him, he was too handsome for his own good.

"You sounding like you don't want me around you, look about the other day, I'm really sorry about..."

"Joe, please get to your point and stop wasting my time"

"Oh, sorry. Well the vice principal said we should get some people to clean the new E-library"

"Okay, that's no problem"
