When the soup train arrived the crowd cheered, for the soup train contained soup for all of the varieties of souplings.

The town of soupsten was a happy town, never upset. Although the town hasn't always been this way.

When the settlers came and the town was new, there was starvation. None of the settlers knew how eat the areas natural food without being poisoned. As a result of this, the developing town slowly began to fall apart.

Soon the settlers began to lose hope, the mayor was praying for something, anything good to happen.

"Please dear lord above, please send us some food, soup, we will accept anything you send."

It was at this moment the rain began. No one has yet figured how the rain began and how it has lasted so long ,yet none of the towns occupants really seem to care.

As the rains began to soup train entered the town for the first time. The people cheered, a tradition they had unknowingly started that would last for centuries after.

When the children saw the train they cried of happiness, they had not eaten for many days. For the towns people the soup train was more than a train, it was a symbol of hope.

The mayor cried of happiness, though his tears were washed away by the rain. The mayor believed that his prayer had been answered.

To the present day the towns people didn't believe in god, they believed in 'the chef upstairs'. 'The chef upstairs' sent them soup and in return they devoted their lives to the mysterious being.

The people weren't exactly sure if the chef was a man of a woman so in their eyes, their god was neither.

They devoted everything to their god. Their town was named in honour of the chef, they even referred to their people as the 'souplings', a term that the mayor had used once and had stuck.

The towns people were aware that they may not be able to rely on their god forever, but for the meantime they would enjoy the hot soup they were provided with.
