Preface
I groan in pain. I was extremely tired and my feet are totally killing me. I guess that it's the side effects of the pills or something. The doorbell rings again. I sigh in anger before stomping down the stairs, which did nothing for my feet.
"Why don't you just walk in?" I grunt as I open the door. "Saves me the- oh." It's Andrew.
He wore navy blue sweat pants and an equally dark grey sweater. On his shoes were his grey Jordan's. Andrews long dark hair was wet and touseled. His green eyes were unusually dull and he had bags over his eyes. He looked worn out, to say the least.
"Hey, Auty. How's the party going?" He says, his voice sounds so tired. Maybe he's having the same issue I have. I smile softly. The first few weeks are the worst.
"Hey, Drew. What's wrong?" I already know what's wrong though. But I have to make sure it's the issue I think it is. I hate being wrong.
"I couldn't sleep much. Actually, I can't sleep at all." I give him a soft smile.
"Yeah, I know the feeling."I grab his hand and the sparks fly uncontrollably. The mate bond of course. Maybe that's why I'm so tired. "Wanna sleep up in my room? I was heading that way soon anyway." He looks happy I asked. Then he looks cautious.
"What about your parents? Isn't this their party?"He asks me. At least he cares what my parents think, I know I don't. I sigh.
"Well I'm pretty sure everyone's here, at least everyone that matters."He grins at me and I kiss his cheek, making my lips tingle. "Plus, it's their anniversary and they'll be to busy with being hosts. So come on, I'm tired."I lead him up to my room, even though he knows the way by now. He follows behind me like a lost puppy.
Once we reach my black room, he looks around. As he takes off his shoes he begins to speak.
"Still can't get over how dark it looks in here. Then when the lights are on..." My walls are neon blue. I know, it's enchanted. A gift from Alex. I guide him to my coral blue bed. He gets in first, on his usual side (left). I place a pillow beside him and lay on the other side, even if it's a bit too late for that. He sighs in content.
"French lavender and honey." He says before closing his eyes. I smile. He knows my smell by heart now. I place the covers over us and close my eyes as well. Now, everything is perfect. Life can't get better.

Someone shakes me. I try pushing them away and feel tingles.
"Come on Andrew, just ten more minutes." I say. He sighs and sits up pulling away from me completely. I instantly feel unsafe.
"Your parents are here."He says. I groan and sit up. I open my eyes. Dad, mom, and Bella are watching me. Bella looks happy. I wonder why.
"Oh, the party's over."I say noticing the absence of sound. Bella is the only to respond, by nodding.
"Get out of bed, we need to talk."Dad says. Who does he think he is? I'm completely comfortable here.
"Whatever you want to say, can be said here." I tell them both. Dad's face flashes with anger, but it is soon gone.
"What were you guys doing up here?" Mom asks. Wow for a borderline genius, she sure does not seem to have common sense. I suppose the smartest people don't have common sense.
"Sleeping..."I say slowly, as if to a child.
"Get out of my house Andrew, you're supposed to be the next Alpha of Lupus Nocte pack. This is not Alpha behaviour."Dad tells Andrew angrily. Mom places get hand on his arm. He calms down. Bella watches everything, considering something.
"How dare you accuse me of not acting like a next in line Alpha? You, yourself, don't even act like a true Alpha. How can you love all of your kids except for Autumn? I'd bet you don't know the first thing about her."
"Andrew, that's enough."Mom says. Bella continues to watch.
"Andrew I think thats enough."Mom says as Aiden watches everything. Just like Bella had minutes ago. Bella watches amused.
"No it isn't. Whats her favorite birthday party she ever had? Her favorite present? Her most prized possesion? Her favorite colour? And did you know she cries herself to sleep every night, wondering if you guys even love her? You continue to make excuses for your pathetic actions. Blaming it on her teenage hormones... I can't believe you call yourself a Dad and Alpha." He shakes his head a look of disbelief on his face.
I place my hand on his arm to calm him down, it works. Bella's face flashes with realization. I can't let this go on for much longer, especially since Andrew will be a part of the family soon.
"I think maybe you should go home."I tell him. He looks at me and we practically speak through our minds.
Tomorrow he will be back, so we can sleep again. I will sneak him in. He nods and puts on his shoes before walking past my parents out the door. I walk him to the door and watch him walk away in the dark. The rain is laying it on thick out there. I hope he doesn't get sick.
I sense Bella walking up and I shut the door. She embraces me in a hug from behind and I cry into her shoulder. He's gone... Bella just holds me.
"He'll be back, he won't leave you for good." She says, soothing my aching heart. I try to convince myself of this. Of course it seemed we spoke with our minds, but did something go wrong and he said he's leaving me? I wish things were different for once.
