Chapter 13

We got to the bodies just in time. After struggling to get them in the car and drove off we heard sirens in the distance heading our way.

"The garage is somewhat a safe house, its one of Nathaniel's businesses. Some of his men fix cars to bring in extra money." Nat said.

"Does he really need it though like come on leave something for the small people in the world." I said.

"I understand that but I guess Nathaniel doesn't." She replied.

The rest of the car ride was quiet. I sat thinking to myself why do I always have to get involved, what does my spirit have with this life it always brings me back to where I don't want to be. We soon arrived to the garage and she told me to pull up to a covered section of the place. She got out and I followed her like the lost puppy I am. We entered a big room that was an explosion of noise everyone was talking. Nathaniel turned around and saw Natalie and came up to her, he questioned her about her arm and she started to explain all that went down.

"Becca? What do you mean she saved you she was long gone when that happened did you hit your head or something?" He asked.

"No I didn't hit my head shes right there." Nat points at me in the corner trying to hide from everyone's view.

"She's here again why? I understand she saved you but why did you bring her here don't you know that's Jonathan's girl she'll tell him everything Nat." He told her.

"I needed help with the bodies oh by the way Lucas, Isaac would you take care of that for me here take the keys. And no Nath she isn't Jonathan's girl just his baby mother." Nat says and toss Lucas the keys.

"Whatever look thanks for helping my sister but I'd like for you to leave now." He turns and tells me.

" Oh sure sure ill be happy to leave." I say and turn around to leave. I then saw Cole watching me from a distance while he cleans a gun.

"And don't worry I won't tell Jonathan anything." I say and walk out the building.

I stand at the front of the building and realise I don't have a car nor do I have my phone I must of left my bag at Jo house. I definitely didn't want to go back in so I started walking the treacherous 2 hour walk home. Thirty minutes in a car started to follow me.

"Hey get in." Nathaniel said while driving along side me.

"Are you sure you want that." I asked and turned towards the car.

"Yeah I'm sure get in." He said and I got in. We were silent for awhile but you guys know me I don't do silent for long.

"Why did you come?" I ask

"Huh what do you mean?" He asked.

"Why did you follow me why are you being nice to me after everything." I replied. He stayed silent for a few minutes then replied.

"I wanted to thank you for saving my sister she's all I have right now." He said.

"Is that all and why is it that you only have your sister big bad gang leader with no lady on his arm?" I asked

"I also wanted to tell you that I believe you when you say you won't tell Jonathan and you weren't responsible for that accident that caused them to lose that baby." He said quietly.

"Thank you I appreciate that, at least someone understands that I'm not Jonathan's keeper I don't control him I just have a child with him." I said

"Yeah I get that now and I still don't believe they were together and having a baby behind my back, how could they." He said

"Everything happens for a reason Nath they have their reasons and I'm sure it wasn't their intention to hurt you, but even though you are hurting please remember they are also hurting they lost a child. Talie is hurting deeply I know because I'm a mother I don't think I would of been able to handle that, I wouldn't be able to live if my Kiea passed away. Please be there for her she hardly has friends she is wrapped up in this crazy life of yours 24/7. Be her adorable little brother that would always be there for her." I said with a sincere heart.

"Thank you, I will be there for her i'll try my best, and she does have a friend she has you. You may not know but she had been a little more happier ever since she started talking to you and I want to thank you for that." He said and watched me at the side of his eyes with a small smile on his face.

"Well I'm glad I could help, its good to know I'm not that worthless." I said getting sad. He pulled up to my house after that statement and i got out.

"Before you go, to answer your question I just haven't found the right girl. Its hard to find the right person in this line of work." He told me.

"You'll find her don't worry. She's around somewhere waiting for you." I said.

"Yeah I guess so, thank you for listening." He said

"No problem, I'm here if you need to talk. Bye Nathaniel." I say turning around and walking to my house.

"Bye Rebecca." I heard him say ever so quietly.

I got inside to my mom, Jo and Makiea all watching Frozen 2. Jo saw me and pointed upstairs I nodded and we headed up quietly.

"So what happened " she asked.

"We got the bodies and dropped it off to one of their places, and I left Jo im honestly tired, drained I need sleep I need a get away." I told her.

"Go to sleep ill inform your mom your home and went to bed." She then left and went downstairs.

I've been silent about my pain but its starting to get unbearable I took some pain meds. Shooting with your non dominant hand is a lot of work. A few minutes later I fell asleep with that wish I always say before going to sleep.

'I wish my life was different I wish I didn't have to go through all of this. I wish all of this never happened. But one thing I never want to loose is Makiea.'

I guess that's why I always wake up in the same hell everyday, because this life gave me Makiea and to wish all of this never happened I would not have Makiea.
