Thema's POV:
I dragged Theda to the bathroom in the Empire State Building, throwing up a wall of mist to block our apperance.
I opened up the handicapped stall and pulled Theda inside.
"Theds? Get changed!" I snapped, quickly becoming frustrated at her numb state.
"What have I done Thema? I know I had a point, but mother is a goddess! She'll kill us for sure," she whimpered.
"She needs us Theda, she won't pulverize you yet," I joked, pulling on my skinny jeans and plaid hollister top. I knew I was pretty and how to take advantage of that when disguising as a mortal. I pulled my curls back into a bun and morphed my face slightly to rid of the thousands of freckles running on my cheeks.
I turned back around to find Theda changing into an oversized tank top with the words "two door cinema club" faded on it, with some leggings, pulling her honey blonde hair away from her eyes. I was severely jealous at how carelessly gorgeous she looked, like can you not try to turn me lesbian?
After she had finished, I tapped my bow and quiver and it shrunk into my bracelet charm, and from the corner of my eye, I could tell that Theda's was turning into her silver moon hairpin. Both were designed much like Percy Jackson's sword, able to transform into everyday objects and appear back in its original spot if lost.
"Ready?" I asked. Theda nodded and we walked out into the streets of Manhattan.
All I could do was hope that Tia and Twila weren't getting into trouble.
*Time Gap*
I opened the door to Dylan's Candy bar, and followed Theda inside.
I knew that Theda was addicted to sour patch watermelons, so I slyly led her to them. (AN: tbh I eat way too many of these)
The result was immediate; Theda could no longer think straight after three bags.
"So, who was he?" I asked, handing her another bag of sours.
Theda frowned a bit as if a part of her knew not to say this, but the sugar took over. "Tyler was the best thing in my life," she murmured drunkly.
"Tyler?" I asked, having never heard much about Theda's past.
"I wish he was here, he was so sweet," she continued.
The following words were faint, but they were loud enough for me to hear.
"We were to get married."
My brain froze.
What?
Heyyyyy!
It me
There's a spoiler in the chapter, see if you can guess what it is!
