Can you keep me safe?

Chapter 9

The massive bath wrapped me in a warm embrace of bubbles and floral scent making me feel all my aches and pains vanish. I allowed my skin to soak in the warm water and began to clean my body. I ran my hand through my hair trying to get ride of any knots and tried to clean my sore back. Suddenly my calmness was broken and the door  swung open to David. He stood there with his familiar eyes wide open in shock I turned around so my back was facing him feeling very exposed and blood rushing to my cheeks.

"My sincerest apologies ma'am I didn't realise you where in here" he said quickly his Scottish accent coming though more . He began to clench his jaw as he ran his eyes up my bare back covered in deep purple bruises.

"Forget about it" I replied

"Y/n are you alright" he said now softly, moving closer towards me with hurt in his voice. Just him saying my name made my heart run.

"Fine" I muttered feeling his hot breath on the back of my neck as he continued to exam my body. Just him being this close to me made my skin feel alight and cast shudders down my spine. I wanted him to say something turn me around touch me and tell me he can look after me. You can just see what what he does to me, something about his protectiveness and intimidation making me feel pathetic like I can't look after myself. But I can and I am.

"Your not alright are you, Because I'm not bloody ok I can't stand outside every day watching that bastard hurt you it goes against everything I'm suppose to do"  his voice trembling the slightest bit "I care for you y/n" he said softly slightly unsure of the meaning behind the words.

"Well you definitely have a funny way of showing it you don't do anything where have you been this week. when I came out of the training room with blood gushing out of my nose I saw you just walk away. That's when I needed you, not when I was at the reception being hit on " I said feeling tears prick in my eyes and  picturing David'd face behind me scrunched up working out what to say.

"That's because if I stayed any longer I would have walked into that room and beat the crap out of him. Anyway Christopher' had sent me out I wasn't allowed to be near you" he said with a tone of embarrassment in his deep voice

"But I wish I stayed I wish I could of helped you if anyone hurts you if anyone even touches you for fuck sake I can't help but feel angry" he said the subtle rage rising in his voice till he was shouting

"What Christopher's?"

"It doesn't matter. What the hells this love? the marks around your neck" he said crouching on my level his voice turning to concern as I accidentally moved my hair away

"Nothing just where something was rubbing" I said wanting him to leave me alone

"Y/n what did they do" he said running his hands though his hair

"Well you left me to gates and his endurance sessions" I said with hurt in my voice now turning around so I could look at him in the eyes. The water still covering my chest and I pushed  the bubbles closer for comfort

"What your saying that they ...." and he began to loose his words as his eyes darted across the floor trying to workout what he was piecing together

"Waterboarding and he tried to strangle me" I replied quietly

"Y/n why didn't you tell me fuck that's not okay it's my job to protect you" he said his hands covering his mouth slightly in shock

"David just leave it it's not a big deal I'm fine and anyway turns out it was my final test" I said  looking down to the ground

But I wasn't fine I was scared I had no clue what I was doing everything was so foreign  and new to how things are done at home and I didn't wanna be here any longer I just wanted to be back in my little flat.
