Can you keep me safe?

Chapter 10

Hey guys this is a bit longer  than normal I think I'm gonna start doing longer chapters  thanks for the votes and views x

I woke up david wasn't there I shot out of bed and walked towards the bathroom the crack of light enticing me closer. I felt a sense of curiosity mixed with fear something inside me was beckoning me to lightly turn the brass handle.

Suddenly I felt a cold metal object pressed to the back of my head. Immediately I knew who it was just by hearing his heavy laboured breath behind me.

"Thought you could escape me darl" he said his words slurred as normal and the stink of alcohol smothering the room.

"Your in prison you can't hurt me anymore" I stuttered knowing that this wasn't real it couldn't be

" but I'm always here aren't I at the back of your mind" he said laughing

"Do it then go on shoot me I dare you kill your own daughter if you like" I screamed I heard the movement of the casing and shuffle of his feet  as he was about to squeeze the trigger pointed at my head when unexpectedly I found myself submerged underwater.

This time I was facing someone else. Gates face pressed up against the glass box I was encased in as i thrashed around in the freezing blue water banging on the walls of my container. He only stood there his face still and emotionless. I could feel the primal urge to take a breath as my conscious couldn't control it anymore as I let the water seep and plague my lungs. Choking I could just manage to make out Gates uncontrollable laughing his whole head throwing back and his mouth open so wide I could see into some black pitiless l hole. The sound of his howling and water drowned me, choked me as I desperately tried to break the glass and screamed for help but no one could hear me under all this water.

My eyes opened wildly David hovering over me anxiously with his hands shaking me gently on my shoulders. I heaved in lungfuls of air. My chest feeling tight like I couldn't breathe. I could feel the panic rising up

"Love it's alright wake up your here look right next to me" he said

"I can't breathe" I stuttered still feeling the water in my throat trying to desperately grasp onto reality reaching out with my hands trying to grab something to lift me out of all of this water.

"It was just a bad dream, you can your absolutely fine I'm right here" he said pulling a strand of hair behind my ear and leaving his warm hand on my cheek. I looked into his bright blue eyes and he caught me I was okay

"Dave" I said with recognition in my now weak raspy voice

And then I started sobbing all the water I felt now streaming out of my eyes what was wrong with me I felt a sense of embarrassment and turned away not wanting David to see me like this.

"Oh darling its okay come here" he said lifting his arms and pulling me close as I cried into his shoulder 

"Look love just breathe in deeply like this" he said calmly beginning to take deep breaths in and then out

"Well done that's great" he said as i copied and started to calm down inhaling and exhaling. slowly my nerves starting to fade as I felt his chest rise and fall next to mine and the pictures of my dad faded.

"I'm sorry you must think I'm pathetic" I said finally

"Sorry for what love"

"For waking you up and being like this"

" don't be so silly that's what I'm here for and your not pathetic at all" he said pulling the duvet back over and wrapping his arms around me, my back pressed next to his chest.
