The rest of the walk was silent, besides him talking quietly on the phone to someone, but I didn't bother to ask who, because I have only known him for not even a day.
***
The music was booming down where the hidden park was, laughter and screaming was ringing in my ears. When I finally got there, I searched around for Sienna. She was leaning against her boyfriend Scott's ute and they were all over eachother. I look around to find someone else to meet with, when my eyes locked onto Oscar, he mingling with another girl that he will use and then leave like everyother party.
''Wow, this seems like a great party.'' Jacob says sarcasitcally.
''Shut up, you wanted to come with me.'' I shake my head while looking at the ground.
''Do you have friends to go to, or are you just gonna stand here and look like a loner?'' He snickers.
I see the skanky girls eyeing him off from nearby, I felt jealous in a weird way.
''Look over there, those girls look they want to have a fun time with you, I'm sure you would be up for it!'' I say rudely, pointing to the girls.
He glares at me, but it feels like he was looking straight through me. I feel nothing but intimidation around him.
''No." He walks away from me without saying another word. It always seems to end like this. He was walking towards a group of guys have a chat. Ha, like he would fit in here.
I walk towards Sienna, she was now talking with another group of guys that I talk to sometimes. I stand beside her until she finishes talking to Oliver. He was that sort of person if you were on his good side, he won't do nothing, but if you step one place out of line, he would knock your teeth out.
''Hey Sienna, can you untape me.'' I say with a slight laugh.
''Oh, duh, of course I can silly.'' Sienna giggles to herself while hobbling behind me, she has obviously already gotten drunk, she can't handle her drinks very well.
I feel a warm hand touch my waist.
''I can do it babe.'' The guy whispers hushly in my ear.
I pull my shirt down quickly and turn around and slap his hand away. Obviously I knew it was Oscar. His dark blonde hair was swept to the right messily. He had lipstick marks all across his jawline. I give him a look of hatefulness. God, I miss him but I hate him and I wish nothing ever happened between us.
''Get lost Oscar!'' I spat.
Oscar pushed me into him and held my hips. A smug look was across his face. I tried to push myself away. But he held tight. His breath was reaking with alcohol and his cheap cologne was tingling my nose.
''Back off her man!'' A familiar husky voice said aloud, but this time it was in an aggrovated tone.
I gasp, as Oscar pushes me forcefully onto the ground.
''Yeah, and what are you gonna do new boy.'' Oscar antagonizes Jacob, shoving him backwards.
One of the partiers car light reflects onto Jacob's face. His eyes are full of agression, and his knuckles have turned white from holding them together tightly for so long.
I get off the dirty ground, and wipe my jeans clean to head towards Jacob to usher him away. But before I could, Oscar is crawled up on the floor, holding his face in his hands.
I search to find Jacob, he was storming away from where we came in with his hands in his pockets.
-
I run up to him, I want to know why he could just punch someone so easily without saying anything to them.
''Hey! Jacob! What's your problem?!'' I grab his arm and try to turn him around.
''Just stop, Jada...go home, I- these parties aren't safe.'' He still didn't look at me, he had no expression on his face.
''Don't tell me if I can stay at a party, or not stay party, I have only known you for what, not even a day and you can think you can control me, well-''
Jacob cups my face with his large hands, He looked down at me, exploring my face, until his eyes met mine and they looked so gentle compared to before. He squeezed his eyes closed and tensed his body.
''Goddammit,'' he whispered to himself and then let out a big sigh. His warm hands left my face, I kind of wanted him to keep them there for a little bit longer.
He turned away from me and started walking, he took the hood of his jumper off his head and ran his fingers that were once touching my face through his hair over and over. He was kicking the same piece of gravel across the tar road, sliding it with whatever foot is was near.
We didn't speak once the whole way back home, just like when we walked up together. He went up his driveway and swiftly went into his front door. Not one interaction with me, not even a glance, not even a wave.. nothing.
