I sneak through the door, and tip toe up the stairs to my bedroom, I close my door quietly and slip off my clothes and shoes into an old baggy top that used to be my dads.

I check my phone for any texts and I had two, one from telstra, and one from Oscar again. My stomach drops just a little bit, especially after the incident that happened tonight.

Oscar: You're boyfriend or whatever you call him better watch his back, he doesn't know what he is in for..

I annoyling reply back,

Me: He doesn't have anything to do with me, I only met him today, why don't you go up to him and say it, I'm not his little messenger, and piss off I don't want to speak to you again.

He replies instantly.

Oscar: You sure you don't want to speak to me, because you probably think about me everyday ;)

A week has passed and I didn't see Jacob or his mum, well I don't think I have ever saw her. There car wasn't here all week, until last night so they must of gone back to where they came from i'm assuming.

My now first shift for the cafe is definitely today. My dad said he rang this morning to check. I was now showered and in my uniform. I curled the ends of my hair for something different.

I slipped on my high-top converse and headed out the door.

Jacob was waiting out on the gutter on his phone. He was playing with his hair while on his phone. He was wearing khaki shorts and a maroon t-shirt. He looked so attractive even in that, but why the hell was her wearing that, it doesn't look like his style. But if i asked I would just feel like a hypocrite since what i was wearing was even worse.

I didn't want to incounter with him because of what happened the night at the party, I felt like there was still a tension between us. So I crossed the road to avoid him as much as possible. Once I got to the cafe, I was soon to see that the cafe was called the ''Whitesides''. No one was in the main cafe so I walked to the back room to try to find Becky. I opened the door and put my head through to peek.

''You're hair looks cute like that.''

I jump and turn around. Jacob was leaning against the coffee brown wall with his head tilted looking down and up at me.

''Now I want to go home and straighten it.'' I scoff.

''That's okay, it looks good any way you put it.'' He smirks and then look at the ground to brush away some mark on the newly polished floorboards.

Why was he complimenting me so much, it's like he is two different people.

''Why are you here?'' I question, looking him up and down to copy him.

''Well, I partly own this joint, my mother runs this place.'' He says quite proudly.

''Come off it, first I have to put up with you as a neighbour, and now I have to work with you.'' I pout while mumbling. But to be honest, I'm quite happy.

He crooks a smile and reaches out for my hands. But I quickly pull away, I can't handle how different he is now to when he and I were at the party.

''C'mon, I'll show you how to run this place.''
