Chapter 13: If You Love Her, Let Her Go

Adrien: oh no! The peacock miraculous! I think we're in for some trouble.

Marinette: (still faintly) Adrien, I think our luck might finally be turning.

Adrien: what!? Luck!? This is bad!

Wayzz: no Adrien, Marinette is right, this miraculous has a positive ora, it must be a new hero.

Adrien: wait, how is that possible unless....Marinette who did you-

Nooroo:*coughs* help, please.

Adrien: oh no! My father's Kwami!

Alya: *picks Nooroo up in her cupped hands* are you okay?

Nooroo: I, *coughs* fear, *coughs* not. My miraculous has been destroyed, this might mean the end for me.

Marinette: saving Nooroo *coughs* just be our top priority. Because his miraculous is destroyed he *coughs* will die soon. And when one miraculous and Kwami falls, all of the other miraculous become weaker because every Kwami is *coughs* connected. We must save him if any of us want to be superheroes again.

Adrien: But how?! We can't go back in-

*Marinette takes a big inhale of breath, like Nooroo, she very week from abuse and battle, and may not last much longer*

Adrien: Marinette! *he runs over to her and kneels down next to her, and props her he's up on his knees* Marinette you have to stay with us.

Marinette: *coughs much more* luckily for us, *coughs again* I gave the miraculous of restoration to someone I think we can trust, and he should be here soon. He can save Nooroo and *coughs* the butterfly miraculous.

Adrien: but, who is-?

*suddenly, jumping through the shattered window, a new hero. Tall, beautiful, and better than every other living human being, this new miraculous holder is looking more handsome than ever with superpowers. Activated by the snake miraculous that Ladybug had secretly hidden in his pocket the day before, Luka quickly runs over to Marinette*

Viperion: Marinette! *kneels down next to her and Adrien* I'm sorry it took this long! I felt so bad after what I did yesterday and I was distracted, I didn't find the miraculous you'd given to me until just a few minutes ago. Sass told me he could feel you and Nooroo were very weak so I came immediately, hoping I would be in time to save you.

Marinette: Luka I'm so glad you came, you're a lifesaver, literally. I'm sorry I yelled at you the other day, you are a wonderful person.

Adrien: *visibly jealous**clears throat to change subject* what are you waiting for!? Use your restoration power to save her! Before it's too late!

Luka: right, *sets her head on his knees as Adrien was just before*m-

Marinette: no! You can't save me!

Luka & Adrien: WHAT!? *when they say the same thing, the two competitors for Marinette's love look at each other angrily*

Adrien: Marinette you have to let him save you! Isn't that the only reason he's even here?

Marinette: no! I'm not nearly as important, there's only enough time for one of us to be saved by your power Luka, and it's not gonna be me. *points to Nooroo* Nooroo must be saved or none of us will be superheros, even if im.......gone.......there will still be a Ladybug after me, *coughs* as long as Nooroo is safe.

Luka: Marinette I can't do that! I'm the only one who has the power to save you and you won't let me!? I can't just let you go knowing I could have saved you.

Alya: you can't be serious Marinette, we can save both of you!

Marinette: this isn't up for negotiation, we don't have enough time. Luka, I'm sorry, but you have to do this, for me.

Luka: *tears in his eyes* Marinette, I'm sorry I didn't come earlier-

Marinette: this isn't time for apologies Luka, it's time for........goodbyes.

Adrien: no! Please Marinette! Hold on!

Luka: *sheds a tear in her chest* Marinette, may I do it again, properly this time? A regular goodbye isn't enough for me.

Marinette: *closes her eyes and leans her head slightly up toward Luka's face, and gently presses her lips against his* I didn't realise it before, but I may love you.

*Adrien is so jealous and tears fill his eyes as he witnesses this. But he decides to not show that it bothers him, he doesn't want Marinette to feel any worse, and he decides to let it go for the sake of his love.*

Luka: I love you more Marinette. Please don't make me do this.

Marinette: they say, when you love someone, let them go. Let me go Luka, please.

Luka: *nods his head, and sets Marinettes into the ground, then gently picks up Nooroo out of Alya's hands, and grabs the butterfly miraculous* Here goes nothing...restore!!!*Both the miraculous and the Kwami floated above his hands and glowed, lighting up the whole room. Nooroo and his miraculous are saved*

Nooroo: thank you! Oh no, *he looks at Marinette, and flies over to her, followed by Luka, Adrien and Alya* Marinette!!

Marinette: I'm so glad your okay Nooroo. I trust you will all find a new, amazing Ladybug, tell my parents I love them......

Hey guys! Elise here! I wanted to clarify super fast, this story was written ~before~ desperada where Luka got a miraculous in the canon episodes of the show. So at this point in my writing I didn't know what the power of the snake miraculous was, and so I had choose something for it to work with the storyline. I chose restoration because it worked out with how I wanted the rest of the story to go, but again it was before we knew that Luka's real power was second chance, which is why it doesn't match with the real series. :)
