Chapter 11: Choice

*Alya, Nino, and Chloe decide to go to Marinette's house to see if they can find anything that may lead them to their miraculous. The bakery has a sign marked "closed" up on door, so they knock, there's no response, but they hear someone crying from the inside*

Alya: *slowly opens the door* Mrs. Dupain-Cheng?

Sabine: *wipes away her tears* Is there anything I can get you?

Alya: *runs over and give a her a hug, and starts crying as well* it's okay, *sniffles* Marinette is strong, and we're gonna help her.

Sabine: do you know where we can find her earrings? Hawkmoth personally told us it's the only way he'll let her go.

Alya: *shakes her head*......I'm sorry. But we think we might still be able to help.

Tom: *comes down the steps* she didn't have them in her room dear, but I think we need to show this to her friends. *Tom hands Marinette's cell phone to Alya*

/there's a reminder notification that has come up on the phone, it reads: Alya, considering you found this, chances are things haven't turned out so good for me. I'm Ladybug, Adrien is Chat Noir, and hawkmoth has us. I'm not going to reveal the location of my earrings, because anyone who knows would be at great risk. I need you to get Nino and Chloe , and bring them to this address *address is written,* tell him that Marinette sent you to get your miraculous', and he'll give them to you. One last thing, unfortunately, Adrien's father is hawkmoth, and were being held in the tower above his house\

Tom: go, save our daughter, please.

*they all nod at each other, and leave for Master Fu's*

/in hawkmoths lair\

*as hawkmoth is leaving, Adrien's cage lowers, and he runs over to Marinette*

Adrien: Marinette!! Please, please Marinette, you're okay.

*she doesn't move*

Adrien: Marinette!!!!! *he grabs her arm and feels a pulse, he sighs of relief*

*Adrien lies down next to her for a couple minutes, until she begins to wake up*

Marinette: *puts her hand in Adrien's* A-adrien?

Adrien: Marinette! *he sits up* what is it?

Marinette: (faintly) Adrien........I don't know if I'll make it through the rest of tonight.

Adrien: don't think like that Marinette, you'll be fine. Someone will find your earrings and bring them.

Marinette: that's what I'm afraid of.

Adrien: wait, do you know where they are?

*she nods*

Adrien: where? Tell me so I can get them and-

Marinette: no Adrien! That's what we're trying to avoid! Hawkmoth can't get my earrings, or he could harm the world.

Adrien: your life is more important Marinette! I can't just let him kill you! I can't just sit back and watch. You're, you're too important to me.

Marinette: my life isn't worth it at the cost of many other lives Adrien, I'm sorry.

*hawkmoths comes up back into the lair*

Hawkmoth: times up, maybe if I keep my word someone will step forward and bring your earrings to me.

Adrien: no!!!

Hawkmoth: *puts Adrien's bars up again, and picks up Marinette by the back of her neck, again holding his sword to her throat* now Nathalie.

Hawkmoth: Paris, it seems you have failed to complete a simple task, and now, your precious Ladybug will suffer because of it!! This is your last chance to save her, if no one comes forward now, you won't have another chance.

Adrien: please don't do this!! *he feels something in his back pocket, and takes it out to see he has had Marinette's miraculous this whole time!*

Hawkmoth: well then, you all leave me no choice.....

Adrien: wait!!!!!!!!! *he holds up the earrings* please don't hurt her!

Marinette: (barely able to talk, since hawkmoth is grabbing her throat) no! Adrien don't!

Hawkmoth: Adrien, *turns off the bars, bringing them down* bring them to me, and I'll let her go.

Marinette: don't you dare Adrien! I'm not worth-

Hawkmoth: *puts a gag in Marinette's mouth* come on.

Adrien: n-no, I can't, she doesn't want that.

Hawkmoth: *sighs, and inches the sword closer to Marinette's throat* Adrien, so you want to lose it all? Your love? your life? ......your future?

*Adrien looks down*

Hawkmoths: you could be so happy, the love between you two is strong, are you truly willing to give it all up now? Once I make my wish, you'll never have to worry about me again, you can live your life without fear. Don't let that all go to waste, don't let your future end tonight.

*Adrien looks at hawkmoth's face, he sees a bit of trust and sincerity, but then he looks at Marinette. She's crying, sweating, and has scars on her face, she shakes her head slightly, as much as she can without hitting her neck against the sword just a few inches from it, in attempt to dissuade Adrien from giving up the miraculous*

Hawkmoth: don't you see? She's in so much pain already, why do nothing when you can so easily prevent your love from this suffering.

Adrien: Marinette, I hope you'll come to forgive me, but I can't continue my life knowing I caused the end of yours. I'm sorry. *he walks over to hawkmoth, holding the earrings*

Hawkmoth: you've made the right decision boy, thank you.

Adrien: I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing it for her. *he holds the miraculous in his fist in front of Hawkmoth*

*Hawkmoths throws Marinette to the ground behind him, where she again falls unconscious, and he holds out his hand to accept the miraculous*

Adrien: *sighs* I'm sorry Marinette *opens his hand, releasing the earrings, dropping them into hawkmoths fist*

*within less then a second three superheroes fly through the night and straight through hawkmoths window*

Rena Rouge: *kicks through the window, and hawkmoths fist, causing him to drop the earrings onto the floor. Then she kicks Nathalie so the live video on tv ends* don't you DARE touch my best friend!
