Ch. 2: Human Ethics

Early the next morning, Tony came striding into the quarters of Loki.

"Rise and shine, princess, your first lesson of Human Ethics is today" he piped.
"Do humans wake up this early?" Loki croaked in a state of sleepiness.
"It's one in the afternoon, your highness" Tony sarcastically sighed.

Loki rolled his eyes but strolled out of his bed. "First off, humans do their own beds. Unless of course you're as filthy rich like myself, you get a maid to do it. But since you aren't to be trusted with anyone yet, you must do it yourself, I don't care how they do it in the castle in the sky but we do it my way here" Tony said folding his arms behind him, ready for the amusement to come his way. 

Loki awkwardly began to straighten out the pillows and folding the sheets over the pillows, then tucking in the remaining under the covered pillows.

"Great. Maybe later it won't take you a whole hour to do it" Tony sarcastically commented.
Loki was about to snap but he knew if he did not like it here, he would be in the streets. Part of him was really considering it though.

"Humans also dress themselves but I won't get into that, I'll cut you some slack today since you aren't leaving the tower yet and into public eye" Tony said beginning to walk out with Loki behind him. "I just want to say thank you again" Loki said.

"Don't thank me quite yet, reindeer games. This isn't free. Everything comes with a price" Tony turned to Loki.

"Now what is it that the man of iron does not already have?" Loki finally spoke his mind.

"It's not that kind of payment I'm requiring. But feel free to try to get me anything I already don't have" Tony turned back around to continue to walk to the kitchen the Avengers made food and ate in.

Loki was confused but he questioned it no further for when he walked into the Kitchen the avengers who were awake starred at him in confusion and in alert.

"Stark. Are you aware the adopted brother of Thor is following you around like a lost and hungry street dog?" Steve spoke leaning his back on the counter with a cup of coffee in his hand. "Yeah what's the deal, Tony?" Natasha asked then sipped on her own cup of coffee.

Loki remained quiet, his eyes falling to the floor in shame.

"Your glorious purpose, here got kicked out of Daddy's castle" Tony walked towards the coffee maker to grab his own cup.

"Do not be too surprised, Thor has too" Loki looked up at Natasha and Steve. Natasha inspected him then looked towards Tony.

"Where's Thor?" She asked to which Thor walked in behind Loki, standing next to his brother.

"Blonder Blondie is awake" Tony announced causing Steve to meet Thor half way in a brotherly embrace, Nat also stood up to embrace Thor.

"Come" Thor spoke to Loki, the both of them went to sit at a two person table. "May we be informed?" Steve asked taking a bite from his breakfast. Thor took that opportunity and began to explain the story to the soldier and to the spy.

"Since when is earth daycare for troublesome immortals?" Steve asked then shook his head.

"I believe their father sent them here so they can learn to behave properly, to learn proper human ethics. I mean it's a little deja vu for you ain't it, point break?" Tony asked Thor who rolled his eyes.

"Tony. Not every human acts the same. That's a whole lot of lecturing if you want to get through all types of people" Natasha stood up from her seat, taking her empty cup of coffee to get a refill.

"I'm pretty sure more Nobel ethics is what Mr Odin is looking for" Steve responded. Loki and Thor looked at each other in confusion at the heroes' attempts to wrap their heads around the situation.

"So manners?" Tony turned to the two confused gods. "I suppose so" Thor shrugged.

"Well, Thor is already kind of up there. We just basically have to get him out and about every now and then doing good deeds. But Loki you need work" Natasha said sitting back down on her stool, this time facing the two brothers.

"Then what is to be done with me?" Loki asked annoyed with the situation already.

"well luckily for you, you're staying with a well loved genius—I got you a job." Tony looked up from his cellphone.

"You're kidding right? The guy hasn't even changed on his own yet how is he going to maintain a job?" Natasha asked in pure disbelief, she was hoping Tony was joking. "Yeah, no offense Tony but what the hell?" Steve asked in just as much disbelief as Natasha.

"Easy. While he does his job, we teach him what needs to be taught. It's fool proof. We can see what he did wrong, and fix it" Tony shrugged.

"What kind of job?" Loki asked him in pure disgust that royalty had to work a 9-5 job.

"You, sir highness, are going to be a teacher. At a private school just a few minutes away from here" Tony crosses his arms.

"Okay I get a job. But a teacher— as in teaching literal children?" Natasha asked in even more disbelief than before.

Bruce Banner walked into the kitchen, taken back by the conversation he had walked into.

"What's happening?" He asked nervously looking at Thor, Loki and the other team members. Loki smirked slightly at Bruce's nervousness.

"Where is he going to even get the degree for that?" Bruce asked in confusion.

"Oh. They aren't asking for much. They are that desperate at least for me" Tony cockily said to everyone.

"Even then, he is going to need a lot of work" Steve said ignoring Tony's growing ego.

"And that's where the ethics come in then afterwards Adoption over here can go back to his home realm" tony pointed his thumb at Loki.

"That sounds great, But what school is in such need that they must take your deceiving words?" Thor asked tony.

"Am I painted to the wall? Or do asgardians not understand English?" Tony asked in offense with his hands up in annoyance.

"I believe he means who is going to believe he is supposed to be a teacher, schools are supposed to be academically challenging. Loki can't just stroll in there treating adolescents as kindergarteners" Bruce piped in.

"Actually. This group of kids can also do half the work for us. It's a class no one wants to take and no one pays attention in, the kids are total assholes" Tony waved his arms about.

"Sounds delightful" Loki irritatedly rolled his eyes in response.

"It can teach him a thing or two about patience" Steve shrugged for he was finally beginning to play along with Tony's game.
"Well then you should get started" Bruce said grabbing his own breakfast.

"We are a team, or at least that's what you all say, we do it together or not at all" Thor interjected.

Natasha just shrugged but Bruce nervously agreed knowing being around Loki was trouble for the other guy.
