"picking up a penny with a press on."

the group was jogging through the woods now, a phone started ringing. augustine touched down on herself happy to feel it wasn't her's. mg pulled his phone from his pocket seeing who it was he handed it to lizzie. "it's for you." he told her, she glanced down at the phone and started to panic. "no way i'm telling your dad what we're about to do and with who for that matter." mg explained himself, running a bit a faster so lizzie couldn't give the phone back.

"i suck at lying." lizzie told everyone as she looked down at the phone watching it ring. she turned to her side handing it landon. "you're great at it." landon didn't want anything to do with anymore lying, the school was his home right now. he couldn't be homeless so he handed it to hope who was in the back of them, alongside of augustine.

"you're his favorite." hope grabbed the phone looking around, she looked to augustine to handing it to her. "stranger gets dibs." she told her, augustine looked down to the phone she wasn't going to blow her cover yet, so she gave it back to lizzie.

"you're the daughter." she handed it back, running past lizzie. lizzie closed her eyes sighing, answering the phone on speaker making everyone stop. "hi daddy!" she was too happy to answer that phone, a smile blastered on her face as if he was standing in front of the group of teenagers.

"hey i'd thought i'll call check in, see how things are going." alaric seem to be calm coming from the speakers, the students urged lizzie to lie as best as she could. "so good!" lizzie almost yelled into the phone. that was their cover, that was it. landon should've just lied to the man, anyone else could but her!

"really? define 'good' lizzie, because i don't think that involves me tracking down dana's body to the glove compartment!" alaric's voice turned into a scream, augustine looked to mg. he was the one to think of the place for the body, mg looked to augustine and just shrugged it was the best place he could think of. "listen, dad, it's fine. we cracked the case. it's a spider. but, like, a big, huge, nasty spider. and mg's comic books know how to kill it." lizzie went too deep into explaining the plan to her father, she sounded crazy saying it aloud.

"comic books? really? lizzie, listen to me, whatever you're thinking of doing, don't, okay? so just tell me where you are, and matt and i will be right there. and where is hope?" alaric instructed his daughter in a still calm manner, he must've been around someone. augustine gestured for lizzie to hang up the phone, he was just going have to track the teenagers next if he wanted to know the plan. lizzie closed her eyes for a brief second thinking about the outcomes. "i'm sorry, dad. you're gonna have to trust me for once." lizzie told her dad what was on her mind before clicking the phone off with a beep.
