Family Matters pt. 1

                     Chapter 10

Zeniya went back to bed as Joe went to his room. Later, Zeniya got up and got Kali ready for the party. Zeniya was nervous not knowing what to except. Zeniya put on some skinny jeans and linen shirt, with some high top converses. She fluffed out her hair that she washed in the shower and light  moisturized it. She but her ring on followed by hoops, necklace, and light makeup. Also, and scarf wrapped around her hair.
    Zeniya went and dressed Kali in his dark jeans, Guns and Rose's band tshirt, and his converses. Joe came and knocked on the door as Zeniya opened the door. Joe paused in amazement at Zeniya's beauty.

Joe smiled as he licked his lips. Then he passed her the keys to his truck.

"What im doing with this"? She asked.

"You gone follow me in truck". Joe said.

"What you driving"?

"My bike". Joe answered.

"Joe, that's dangerous". She started to say.

"I know, that's why I want you and lil man to follow me in the truck". Joe said.

Zeniya put Kali in the truck and strapped him in.

Zeniya followed Joe over to the party. Her heart was racing scared that Joe might get hurt, and that she never drove a big truck before. When they parked everyone looked and cheered in greeting them. Joe got off his bike and Zeniya jumped out the truck and walked to the other side to get Kali. Joe met her over there and Kali was asleep.

"Hey lil man, we're here. Wake up". Joe said as Zeniya looked around and noticed all the Hispanic people. They stared as Hispanic music played in the year.
  As Joe unbuckled the seat belt Kali's grey eyes opened making him smile.

"There's my lil man". Joe said picking him up.

"You can let him walk". Zeniya said.

"He's fine, beautiful". Joe said before getting Zeniya by the hand.

Zeniya smiled as Joe kissed her forehead. No wonder they never saw Joe with the idea type. They were shocked to see Zeniya.  Joe never showed or brought any girl home before. Unknowingly thinking the same thing. Then their attention went to Kali. Everyone bucked their eyes looking at Kali and Joe up close. The resemble was so close it wasn't funny.

"Hey what's up. Is Noah here yet"? Joe asked.

"No". Someone said.

"Everyone, this Zeniya my lady and this Kali my son. He shy at first like his mommy". Joe said.

   Zeniya smiled and waved as everyone waved back. Zeniya noticed some faces were accepting and other's  wasn't. Joe took Zeniya and Kali inside. Later, Noah came home to a heart warming greeting. Then they all party. Zeniya was amazed at how they could party. Kali started playing with the kids that were there and Zeniya sat on the couch quiet as a mouse. Joe came over and kneel down by Zeniya.

"Come on, let me introduce you to my mom and brother". Joe said.

"I thought. . . Okay".

They walked over to a sort of small woman with a small thick frame. She smiled and pulled Zeniya into a hug.

"Welcome to the family, mija. My son speaks highly of you. I must say I'm a little envious". She said.

"Thank you. What do you say about me"? Zeniya asked Joe.

"Nothing bad". Joe assured her as Noah walked over.

"Nice to meet you finally.  Zeniya right"? Noah asked with a heavy accent.

"Yes, nice to meet you too". Zeniya said.

"Joe,  we about to go and show off the bikes. You down"? Noah asked.

"Hell yeah. Bae I'm about to go. I'll be back". Joe told Zeniya knowing she hated that bike.

The staff and the rest of the family looked as Zeniya got Joe's hand.

"I'll be fine, mama. Don't worry". Joe told her pulling her in for hug.

"Okay, be safe". She said before Joe placed a kiss on her soft lips. Joe paused as Zeniya bucked her eyes.

Joe smirked as he backed away slowly looking at Zeniya up and down. The men went outside and started showing off their motor skills. Motor bikes sounded off and Zeniya's heart started racing. The women talked and laughed as Zeniya paced the floor a little.

"You care for mijo, yes"? Akela asked.
Zeniya smiled and sat down as the women looked at her.

"He has always been a care free child. He act without thinking sometimes. When he was younger, his dad died. He took it hard. He vowed to keep himself in shape so he could live long. He went to the army at a young age. When he came back. He wasn't the same, what ever happened in war changed him. He didnt smile nor laugh, nothing. I tried my best to help him. It wasn't good enough.  He moved out, he got some help on his own terms. Then he met you. He brags on you, talked on how beautiful you are, how y'all are together. Thank you, mija". Akela told Zeniya.

"Yes, thank you. I have been apart of this family for a long time. But this is the first I've seen him genuinely happy". Gloria said.

"You dont have to thank me. Joe is like family to us. Thank you for raising such a kingly man".  Zeniya said.

Joe's mother smiled.

"He loves you, I can see it in his eyes and I see it in yours, but something tells me you are bad at paying attention to your surroundings". Akela said as the staff walked around and worked.

"A little at times". Zeniya said.

The crashing noise came from outside. Everyone stopped and the door flew open.

"Joseph's hurt, he crashed into a tree". A man yelled.

All the women jumped up as Akela threw the rag she had on her shoulder to Zeniya.

"Go, you will make it before me"! She said.

Zeniya ran out the house as she saw Joe slowly getting up. He fell back down as she got to him.

"Joe". Zeniya said touching his face as tears formed in her wells as Joe gestured he was okay.

"I'm fine, I just bumped my head, beautiful". He said.

"You're really killing me Joseph. Is showing off really worth it"? She asked.

"Yes, yes it". Joe said smiling.
Zeniya pinched Joe.

"Ou-ch, that's going to bruise". Joe said.

"Its going to kill you to be serious sometimes. You could have gotten severely hurt and I'm not saying sorry". Zeniya fussed.

"Oh yeah"? Joe said before pulling Zeniya into him and tickling her lifting her spirits.

They struggled as Zeniya giggled and gave up.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry". Zeniya said loudly.

Zeniya managed to get up. She helped Joe up and and everyone clapped. Yet they were shocked that Joe showed a playful side. Kali and the other kids came over. Kali ran to Joe as he scooped him up.

"You having fun, lil man"? Joe asked Kali.

"Yes sir". Kali answered.
Zeniya yawned as she looked around. 

"You tired? Come on". Joe said.

   Zeniya noticed something strange. She saw that Joe showed a distance from his family and friends.  They talked and laughed, but Joe wasnt as open to them like he was with her and Kali. Soon, Joe loaded his bike on the truck. He came in the house and looked at Zeniya.
