Jealousy Solves Nothing

Chapter 14

Zeniya had made it to work and clocked in she went in the locker room to change her clothes. She looked around and noticed something strange. It was empty, so she went on to her locker. Keeping her guard up as she unlocked her locker. The door squeaked as it opened. Zeniya took off her pants and folded them. From the corner of her eye she saw a figure. She jumped in fear as Joe came towards her with his arms up.

"Joseph, you scared me. What are you doing here"? She asked looking around putting on her work pants.

"Well, you're not answering my phone calls or messages. You and Kali haven't been home in over two weeks. You know well enough that .... that's killing me Niya. You keeping me in the dark, keeping my son away from me..... keeping you from me".

"I'm not keeping Kali away from you. You can come get him at anytime. I just been taking time to think".

"Think? You can think at home Niya". Joe said as Zeniya put on her work shirt.

Silence grew was Zeniya folded her clothes and put them in the locker followed by her bag. She locked it back up. She sighed deeply.

"How did you manage to come in here alone"? She asked.

"Money, pictures of us, and a heartwarming lie". Joe confessed.

"Okay, why was a female in the house, when we agreed to keep our love lives or whatever away from Kali until he was old enough"? Zeniya asked as she folded her arms.

"She lied to me saying she was stranded and needed somewhere to stay until her brother got off of work". He told her.

"Pff". Zeniya sounded out rolling her eyes.

"What was I supposed to do Niya"? Joe asked.

"Have her to sit her white boney ass on the porch. Joseph, what if ... for some reason you fell asleep and she went to Kali's room and did God knows what to him. What if she's have weird fetishes"? Zeniya snapped back.

"For one, we got to find you a new show that isn't on the ID channel. Second, Kali was fine and her mind was to focused on". Joe said as Zeniya peered at him.

"Yea, she was focused alright. Trying to take your soul". Zeniya said letting her jealousy unfold.

"My God, you're jealous mami". Joe grinned.

"No, no I'm not".

Joe sat down on the bench and pulled Zeniya to him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and laid his head on her stomach.

".......... I'm sorry Niya. Please, come back home or at least bring Kali back".

"You want to meet my family? Tomorrow night is family dinner night at the cafe. Come to dinner and you can take Kali back with you. Joe, our foundation is built on Kali and our friendship. But building a house on that foundation is kind of a challenge. Especially, when we're not together".

"Oh ok, so you want to build a house? Do you want to build it with me or Chad"? Joe asked as Zeniya got out of his grip.

Zeniya was quiet for a moment.

"Oh, so you starting to like Chad. What? You been knowing him for what? ...... five minutes". Joe said starting to let his jealousy and anger get the best of him.

"Really, Joseph? Wow, coming for the man who just met a bitch at the club"! Zeniya snapped.

"You know what, I dont know why I'm wasting my time with you Niya! I don't know why I'm all worried over a woman who I dont love. It's not like he could eva put you down like me". Joe said raging in jealousy as it unfolded.

"Oh, so there it is. You afraid he hitting better than you, Huh? The thought of him laying me down on my back. Or me on top giving him". She said before Joe gave a look cutting her off.

"Niya, I swear". Joe said.

"Swear on bitch"! She snapped.

Joe peered at Zeniya and silence spreaded.

"What? Or the thought of him touching me, tasting me, or pounding this ass". Zeniya said before Joe cut her off with a look that could kill.

"Niya"! Joe yelled.

"What! Remember tomorrow night. Come get your son".

Zeniya rolled her eyes and walked away. Joe left and Zeniya started her day at work.

The moon was high as Joe pulled in the parking lot of the cafe. He got out and went in the cafe.

"Excuse me, sir. We are closed". Aurora said holding Kali on her hip.

"Papi"! Kali screamed jumping down.

Joe bent down to Kali's level as Kali ran in his arms. Zenyatta, Megara, Zhané, James, and Dreux came out the back and looked at Joe. Devin was at the table texting his girlfriend. Demonte came out and looked at Joe.

"Papi, I missed you". Kali said hugging Joe's neck.

"I missed you too, mijo". Joe said feeling like he could breathe again".

"ZENIYA"! Zhané shouted.

Zeniya and Nicole came out the back. Zeniya looked around at her family as they stared at her then back at Joe.

"Hey, Joey". Nicole said as Joe waved spotting Zeniya in flawless make up and pin curls.

Zeniya walked over to Joe.

"You made you it". She said.

"Did you doubt that I would come"? Joe asked as Zeniya tried to avoid eye contact.

"Everyone, this is Joseph Garcia. Kali's father. Joseph, this is my grandmothers Zhané and Megara. My grandfathers James and Dreux".

"Nice to meet you". Zhané and James said.

"Over there, is my father Devin. My mother Zenyatta. In the corner is my brother Demonte. You met Nicole already. My aunt Aurora".

"Nice to meet you all". Joe said.

"Same here". Everyone said.

They all talked and soon sat at the table for dinner. Kali sat in between Joe and Zeniya. Everyone noticed how Zeniya looked complete with Kali and Joe. Zenyatta and Devin asked Joe question for question, but Joe had answers for most of them. The questions about him and Zeniya was hesitated, but answered with a grin or a smirk. James looked at Zeniya and smiled.

"Why, are you dressed up to have dinner with us"? James asked Zeniya as everyone looked at her as Kali played a game on her phone.

"Papa, I got date later on tonight". Zeniya told James.

"James, leave Niya alone. We haven't seen her this happy in years. Stop being nosy and eat up". Zhané said.

"Yes, we dont want her to wipe that beautiful smile off her face". Dreux said.

Everyone smiled as Zeniya's phone started ring. Joe looked down at the phone as Chad's name came across the screen. Zeniya got the phone and muted the phone. Then gave it back to Kali. Joe made eye contact with her as Zeniya dropped her head. Then a message came through on the phone. Joe read it and ate some of his food.
