The Call

No One's POV

Octavia sat on the couch at the Salvatore Boarding House. Bella had been calling for the last three days.

"She's worried." Octavia says.

"She left a message. Damon wanted to wait for you to hear it then we'll call her." Stefan says.

Octavia nods.

Damon plays the message.

MESSAGE

Damon? Stefan? I've been calling for like days. I really need to talk to my sister. It's important. I'm back from Italy. Edward is safe and Jasper is really worried and heartbroken. The Cullens are back in Forks. I really need my sister home. I haven't heard from her since I called her. Tell her to call me please. I think she and Jasper will work out. He left because Edward's decision made the entire family leave. Jasper lied to her so she'd let him leave. Please, someone call me back.

END

Octavia had tears in her eyes.

"I can't go back there yet. I can't risk hurting my sister. And if I see Edward Cullen, I'll end up ripping his head off... I have most of it under control but I have yet to test my control around humans." Octavia says.

Everyone nods.

Stefan's cell phone goes off and he checks.

"Bella." Stefan says.

"We all stick to the half truth, half story. I got in a crash on the bridge, driving to Forks and my car flipped over and landed into the lake. Damon got me out in time. I'm pretty beat up but I'm recovering." Octavia says.

"She or The Cullens will still come for you. They won't stop until they at least hear from you. I'm willing to bet my life, no matter what, Jasper will be here regardless the excuse we come up with." Damon says.

"Then do what needs to be done! I can't hurt any of them! Especially Bella or Jasper!" Octavia snaps, desperately.

Stefan answers, putting it on speaker.

"Bella." Stefan answers.

"Stefan, where's Katherine?" Bella asks.

"Bella... I'm so sorry." Stefan says.

Silence.

"Sorry? Sorry for what?" Bella asks.

"The night you called your sister to go back to Forks... she found out some things..." Stefan says.

"Like what?" Bella asks.

"She was adopted by your parents, Bella. Her name is actually Octavia Katherine Artemis Hecate Athena Mikaelson. She was born the same day you were but she was actually born hours ahead of you, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her parents are Klaus Mikaelson and Amelia Hawthorne." Stefan says.

"Where's my sister?" Bella asks.

"....She crashed on the bridge... her car flipped into the lake... no one was-.... she didn't make it, Isabella." Stefan says.

Silence.

"No.... NO!" Bella yells.

"I'm so sorry. We'll bring her home soon. You have my deepest condolences." Stefan says, his eyes locked on Octavia the whole time.

Octavia was doing her best to fight her emotions but tears streamed down her face. Elijah side hugging her and rubbing her arm.

"NO!" Bella's sobs were heard.
