Night before

No One's POV

Octavia was in her home, with her family in the living room. They were discussing feeding.

"I spoke to Sam and Carlisle. They said we can feed as long as we're not in Forks. I have blood bags in the fridge but I want us to drink those right before the battle. Tonight, I'm thinking we go a few towns over." Octavia says.

"I agree." Rebekah says.

"Tyler, Jeremy, Alaric, Bonnie. You all stay here and rest up. The rest of us will be back shortly." I say.

The four nod and the vampires- +2 hybrids- get ready to leave when there was a knock on the door.

Klaus goes to answer it. A few minutes later, he returns... with Jasper.

Everyone turns to them.

"I'm sorry to come unannounced but I need to speak with Octavia." Jasper says.

No one moves.

"It concerns Bella's whereabouts during the battle." Jasper says.

"Leave us." Octavia says.

Everyone hesitated to move.

"You all go feed. The rest of you either go get some rest or leave." Octavia says, sternly.

The vampires + original hybrid left the house along with the witch, werewolf, and two vampire hunters. Leaving just Jasper and Octavia in the house.

"What's going on?" Octavia asks.

"Because of the threat of Victoria, it's been decided that Bella should be close by and we need all hands on deck so Edward decided to not participate in the fight. He's going to be up in the mountain with Bella and one of the wolves. The rest of us will be fighting the newborns. We wanted to inform you, immediately." Jasper says.

"I appreciate that." Octavia says.

"Is there any concerns you have? Any changes you'd like to make?" Jasper asks.

"I'm going to be in the fight. I'm going to have my aunt Rebekah and Tyler up in the mountain with Edward, Bella, and the wolf." Octavia says.

Jasper nods.

"Well.. I'll let you go hunt. We're going out hunting as well. Edward and Bella are at the house, alone." Jasper says.

He goes to leave when..

"Jasper?" Octavia asks.

Jasper halts and turns back to Octavia.

"Yes?" He asks.

Octavia contemplates her actions before walking over and cupping Jasper's face then kisses him. Jasper was shocked but didn't stop her. He just slowly kissed back.

"I know you said we would deal with our problems after the battle... but with a possible chance of me not making it out, I'd really like to handle them tonight." Jasper says.

"Nothing will happen to you. They'd have to go through me to even look wrong at you." Octavia says.

Jasper smiles.

"Does this means I'm on a good path to forgiveness?" Jasper asks.

"You're completely forgiven. I understand why you left. It hurt like hell. But I understand. My dad left me on Charlie's doorstep 18 years ago for a similar reason. To keep me safe. To give me a human life. Even though I wasn't fully human. My dad came back to me. You did, too, in a way." Octavia says.

"I love you, so much, Octavia. I'll never leave you again." Jasper says.

"I know you won't. I'm never going anywhere either." Octavia says.

Jasper kisses her. She kisses back.

One thing lead to another and they were making love until Octavia decided to go to sleep. Jasper stayed with her all night.
