One Year Later
I groaned and rolled out of my queen sized bed.
Yes, you heard me; queen sized bed.
A month after Max left I'd gotten a call from Dylan's boss asking me to come in for an interview. Long story short I got an internship with them and four months ago not only did I get to move into a new apartment but I got a great job to take pictures for their Teen Magazine.
Everything in my life was perfect.
Everything but my relationship with Max. He did keep to his word and for the first four months after he left he called me every night we'd talk for hours at a time. Then, the calls just started getting less and less until they just stopped altogether.
I knew why he wasn't calling anymore. I mean, I'm a fan of his band so I know what's going on.
Everyone was making a big deal of him and his new girlfriend. She was a Victoria Secret model so go figure. She was hella gorgeous and I hated to admit it but they looked really cute together and he looked really happy.
Just as I'd predicted; he'd found someone better and he was moving on. I wasn't angry or anything because I expected it. What hurt me was that he didn't have the decency to call and explain it to me. I had to find out on the internet. But we were never really together in the beginning I just have to get over it.
I rolled out of bed and decided to get dressed for work. I had some last minute pictures I had to hand into my partner so he could finish up work.
When I opened my door I saw Emma with her hand raised she was about to knock on the door.
"Morning!" She said beaming at me.
"Morning Em." I said getting out and locking the door behind me.
"Where's Dylan?" I asked looking behind her.
"In the car, we need to hurry." She said pulling me in the elevator.
It was in these moments when missing Max didn't hurt as much. When I was with Emma and Dylan I used to be happy. They were my best friends and I loved them.
There were sometimes when I saw them together I felt a little bit jealous because I was so close to having that with Max.
"What are we doing tonight?" Dylan asked glancing at his girlfriend in the passenger seat when he was at a stop sign.
"What do you mean?" I asked popping my head between their seats.
"I mean, it's the weekend. What are we gonna do?" Dylan asked looking at me.
"I still don't follow." I said and Emma rolled her eyes and smacked my arm.
"He means which club are we gonna be visiting."
"Oh. Oh." I said nodding and mentally slapping myself. I was best friends with two hyperactive people who didn't see the point in staying home and just sleeping. I mean, don't get me wrong, they weren't like alcoholics or anything; they just loved not sleeping.
"So..." Dylan continued impatiently as the light changed and he sped down the road. "Which club are we going to?"
"We could go to this one, KB." I said leaning back in my seat. Emma turned and looked back at me. "The where? I haven't heard if that one."
I smirked and crossed my arms. "KB; it's only the hottest club in like, ever."
"What does KB stand for?" Dylan asked as he unconsciously stretched over and took Emma's hand and laced their fingers together. Their relationship looked so easy and I was glad that I could witness it.
