○ Those two weeks of being grounded were the slowest days of my life. I tried my hardest not to go out at night, and I actually succeeded. You know...with the help of Jack and Sam almost locking me in my house so I couldn't leave. ○
Present - Friday Night.
"Rilee! Can you come here for a minute?" My mom called for me in her room. "Yeah?" I asked standing in the doorway. "I'm having dinner with the new boss tonight, and I'm not sure which one.", she said holding up two dresses that looked tight, one black and the other maroon. "Hm...I'd say the maroon. That way it's not too sexy." I teased her. "Thank you.", she said sarcastically. I smiled and went downstairs to grab a water bottle. My dad left my mom when I was just a year old, because it was "too much responsibility" for him. I get it though, they were both seventeen. My age now to be exact.
I never thought of why my mom doesn't like me going to parties, or get's sketchy when Sam or Jack sleep over, she probably doesn't want me to make the same mistake as she did. But tonight there was a block party for all the seniors, and of course I was going. It was currently seven o'clock, meaning I had an hour and a half to get ready, so I hopped in the shower, blow dried my hair, and got dressed into a pair of high-waisted denim shorts that had studs on the inner pockets, a black crop top that said 'Wild Child' in white writing, and my grey & white Air Jordan Phat 1 sneakers.
Makeup was the usual - like always. I checked myself in the mirror one last time, perfect. Smiling, I walked out of my room and down the steps with my phone. "I'm gonna head out now so be goo-, where are you going?", my mom asked smirking at my nice outfit. I laughed, "There's a block party tonight down in the development. Jack and Sam are taking me." "Of course they are." she mumbled cockily. "Well, have fun. Be good, no drinking, smoking, vandalism, beer pong-" "Mom...just go." I giggled. She smiled and kissed my head. "I'll be home around ten!", she said walking out the door.
Almost exactly two minutes later Sammy and Jack showed up on my doorstep with Johnson. "Ready?" they asked once I opened the door. I nodded, and we jumped into their jeep, riding over to the party. The sun down leaving the stars above us made the party even more fun. The street lights and glow from inside the hosts' house was giving us light on the streets with music blasting and tons of people from our grade. Our "group" walked over to one of the driveways where there were drinks and random things going on.
"Want any?" Johnson asked pouring himself a drink. "No thanks." I answered. "No drink for you? Lemme' guess, your mom put you on limits." Jack yelled over the music to me. I rolled my eyes nodding. He chuckled, "Why don't we head inside?" Inside the house were limited people, but it was still crowded. "Jack!" a voice said behind us excitedly - Claire. "Oh hey what's up?" Jack (g) smiled at her. "Nothing, really, I lost Chloe in the mess of people upstairs...but d-do you want to d-dance?", she asked nervously.
Johnson, Sam and I looked at Jack waiting for his answer. "Um, sure." he smiled making Claire look happier than ever. "I'll catch up with you guys later." Jack smiled taking Claire's arm and walking over to the dance floor. "Well, that's one less person from our crew." Sam sighed. Johnson and I nodded, we didn't mind him hanging out with Claire, I mean she was pretty and sweeter than anything, but it was just a "group" thing.
In the backyard the pool lights were lit up with people diving in, red solo cups crushed on the grass, half the people here are probably already drunk. "Yeah...let's not get too close to those guys.", Sam shook his head towards a group of three guys that were clearly drunk next to us. "Yo Johnson! We're playing truth or dare, wanna join?" a guy from our english class -Derek, asked us. We joined in sitting at the table with everyone else in the game.
"Rilee, truth or dare?" Derek asked me first. "Truth." I stated, fearing what a dare would be. "Last person you had sex with?" he asked me raising his eyebrows. I gulped, "D-don't you think that should private?" "Come on, you had to at least have someone recently." he said obviously ignoring my last sentence. "Fine, it was Sam." I sighed and everyone "oohed". "Aren't you guys like, friends with benefits?" Johnson leaned in whispering to me. "More like when we need a good "hook-up", we go over." I corrected him whispering back.
"Ew. Y'all nasty." Johnson faked a southern accent making me laugh, "You already knew that!" The rest of the game got even awkwarder, which I didn't think was possible, but the fun moments ended when Sammy went to get a drink, leaving me with Johnson...who ended up getting drunk. Everyone at the table was laughing at completely nothing, slurring their words when they spoke. "Okay then.." I said to myself awkwardly getting up from my seat and walking back towards the house when someone picked me up throwing them over their shoulder.
"What are you doing?!" I yelled trying to escape the persons grip. "All the girls are being thrown into the pool." the mystery guy answered walking me over to the inground pool. "No, no, no, no, put me down!" I said quickly, kicking in the air. What nobody knew was that I was deathly afraid of water. I could swim if I tried, like, I wouldn't drown or anything, but it was just something about water that scared the living crap out of me. "Please put me down!" I screamed clinging onto the back of the guys shirt as we neared the pool.
"Hold your breath! One, two-" "CANIFF! PUT HER DOWN, MAN." I heard Sam's voice yell a few feet behind us. The guy put me down on the grass but I slipped a little gripping onto his bicep. "You okay Rilee?" Sam asked me once he ran over to us. I nodded out of breath stepping over into his arms. "She's afraid of the water, Taylor." Sam rolled his eyes rubbing small circles on my back. So this kid's name is Taylor? "Oh, sorry.", he apologized to me.
"What's new? Haven't seen you in awhile." Sam said bro hugging him after I stepped away. "Nothing much. Just thought I'd check out this party tonight. Dillion and I are in town for the week." Taylor shrugged, and I realized an accent in his voice. Now who the heck is Dillion? Sammy went to speak again but there was a loud crash inside the house causing us all to spin around. "What the fuck was that?" Taylor asked, but Sam ignored his question, pulling me inside the house with him.
A few guys were making a mess in the kitchen with everyone standing around not knowing what to do. "We're swwooo turnntt." a guy slurred his words putting all his weight on a table which caused it to tip over spilling the snacks and punch onto the floor. "OOOH!" he yelled wide-eyed at everything scattered across the tiled floor. Correction: A few drunk guys were making a mess in the kitchen. "Let's find Jack and get out of here." Sam said grabbing my wrist and pulling me out to the dining room.
"Bro, we gotta leave before things get crazy." he said once we found Jack talking with Claire. "Uh..yeah alright, I'll see you later." Jack waved to Claire who looked a little disappointed but faked a small smile as we walked towards the front door. Things. Were. Wild. Silly string was plastered against the driveway and people's clothes while the music still blasted from the speaker.
We dodged a few running kids (kids still meaning teenagers DONT WORRY :p) as we made our way to the car. "Sorry about Taylor almost tossing you in the pool." Sam said once we pulled up to my house. "Taylor was there?" Jack asked. "Yeah an-" "Guys! We forgot Jack!" I interrupted Sammy. "Shit..." They muttered looking at each other. "Where was he last?" Sammy looked at me. "Truth or dare table...drunk." I sighed rolling my eyes.
"Alright, you guys go inside, and I'll find him and take him back home, alright?" Sam looked Jack and I in the eye. We nodded and went into my house to get ready for them sleeping over. "Where's your mom?" Jack asked getting his backpack that he left here earlier with pillows and blankets shoved inside. "She said she was eating dinner with the new boss, but it's already ten thirty.." I bit down on my bottom lip, looking back at the clock on the microwave.
"When'd she say she'd be home?" He asked laying a blanket down on the floor. "Ten. She's never late." I sighed joining him on the sofa to watch tv. "Maybe she found a boyfriend." He winked down at me. "Or maybe she was thrown into a trunk and taken to get freaking raped. She's only thirty four, Jack. I should call her." I said getting up to get my phone, but a car pulling into my driveway stopped me from moving anymore. That wasn't Sammy's car, or my mom's...

OOH STALKER MAYBE?
lol no. this is the beginning of a whole new turn on Rilee's life.
Which will most likely cause her to want to move out even more, but you know it's alright. ;) haha.
I've literally been working all day on this book. & I really like it so far. ❤️ But it took me like thirty minutes to proof-read this because my music was on shuffle, and it played Jack&Jack, Shawn, EVEN Taylor nonstop so I was distracted. Big time.
