Everyday, on the way to school, I walk past the same hedge - it mesmorised me everytime. Yet, I still walked past it, ignoring the urge. Until one final day, I couldn't resist.

"Omigod, it was so unfair! I was gonna win but then the arsonist doused me so I gave up hope..." complained one of my best friends Skie.

"Ugh! I hate arsonists!" agreed Becca. They were total nerds.

"What's an arsonist?" Ivy questioned. She had no idea what they were talking about. She just didn't get these games.

"Wait... What? Ivy, don't you know what an arsonist is?" Skie said, horrified.

"Well, to be honest, I don't know what any of this is..."

Becca rolled her eyes, the way she always did and replied, "C'mon Ivy, have you never played Town of Salem before?"

"Umm... should I lie?" She offered with a cheeky grin.

They sighed, disappointedly and gave each other an unusual look, one that Ivy had never seen before. What were they thinking? There was an awkward silence between the three of them.

At last, Skie said, "You know what Ivy, Becca and I were just going to talk about some gamer things that you wouldn't understand... We don't want to bore you, so we'll just walk ahead."

Before Ivy could reply, they gave her a sympathetic but uneasy smile and walked off. She wasn't expecting that as they had never excluded her before. However, due to her stubborn nature and pride, she brushed it off and carried on walking to school.

She enjoyed walking to school alone as it left her to her thoughts but it wasn't the only reason. She was getting closer to the place she always stopped in her tracks and stared. Where she always wondered why she stood in awe. Where she saw the arched passageway that was barred with an iron door.

She had stood there for so long that she hadn't realised that she was going to be late for school. She considered going anyway for the sake of her attendance records but she automatically dismissed the idea. Her mind was racing in a thousand directions until she saw it.

There was a flash of red light coming from past the door which would've been missed by a blink of an eye but she saw it.

This time, she was convinced it wasn't a trick of the eye.
