The Hybrid Mate

Chapter 5

I make it to my room and shut the door trying to lock out everything going on. I rest my head on the door. All of the weight of the world seems to be falling on my shoulders and I don't know how to handle it. I'm drowning in the sea of responsibility and I can't save myself. How am I supposed to rule a kingdom if I don't even feel like I belong there and the people don't respect or believe in me. 

"Belle?"  I lift my head and turn towards Mia.

"I'm fine." I brush her off and walk to my bed to grab my bag.

"Belle-" Mia starts.

"Mia I said I'm fine!" I snap at her while shoving my suitcase closed in anger. I can tell my eyes are flashing blood red. I tilt my head down. "I'm fine." I whisper. Mia says nothing but wraps her arms around me in a hug. 

"You may be pretending to be fine now but you will soon be fine." Taking deep breaths I nod my head. A knock at the door separates us with Mia goes to get the door. 

"I need to talk to Clarabelle." I turn to the doorway where Mia is looking for my signal. I nod. Nickolas walks into the room. 

I sit on the bed with my arms crossed not caring about the hostel look I'm giving off. "What do you want Nick? I'm not ready for round 2 and I need to leave for Russia." 

Nick walks up to me. "I understand that you are leaving but I am coming with you." Before I could argue Nick cuts me off. "And before you say no the twins called me personally because they knew I was here with you." He raises an eyebrow. "What, how did they know I was here?" 

I smirk, "You forget that you are not the only one with friends that can use portals." 

Mia laughs at my vagueness. "Lily is a water nymph." She explains. Water nymphs are able to use water portals to see other parts of the universe whether it is in a small pond or a pool of water. "She must have wanted to check as to why her favorite Princess was snapping at her and saw you instead." Mia teases.

I scoff, "If Lily was willing to risk Rosy's wrath by asking for your help then I'm betting that the situation must be bad enough that it requires your help." Nickolas and Rosy have bad blood between them because of Nick. However, their bad blood makes for a great snack for me with all of the built up anger within them. 

Nick sighs. "Well anyways I am going with you. When are you planning on leaving?" 

"We leave for the plane in less then an hour. Is that enough time for you to gather all your hair products and pitchforks?" I smirk.

He gives me a sarcastic laugh. "I left all my pitchforks at home but I'm sure that I can make due with my whip." 

"Oh shucks, I was hoping you would be mistaken for the devil that you are while we were there and would be chased through the streets." Mia chimes in with a devilish smile on her face. 

Nick smirks back, "The only devil here is you Ms. Succubus."

Before Mia is able to charge at Nick I break up the tension. "Nick go pack and get ready to leave. I am going to leave in exactly 54 minutes with or without you." I plainly tell them. I grab my bag and make my way out of the room before another Fae war is started over hurt pride. However, I come to regret leaving my room when I run into Gabriel.

"What the hell is going on?" He demands, "I finally find my mate to find out not only is she a royal hybrid but she is also engaged to another male." His eyes burn like the flames of hell which is every accurate since I've traveled there before. 

I sigh before moving around Gabriel and motioning for him to follow. Still holding my bag and a puppy following me I make it to the front door before he starts to getting ancy. I put my bag by the door and turn to lean against the wall with my arms and legs crossed.
