~AKÂSHA~
"I can't marry him! Keta, he's...he's rude and arrogant." I state
"But he is so cute!" She beams
"His personality makes him ugly...Also Caleb is here." I say
"WHAT?! Did he speak to you?" She questions
"Of course, he confessed that he still loves me and wants me to marry him. We may have kissed and Mandisa-"
"Don't tell me she caught you lip locking." Keta gasps
"No, but she thinks Caleb only wants me for my vanity. He said he truly loves me and I shouldn't be married off to someone who doesn't understand me."
"What did he mean by that?" Keta asks while strapping my top in the back.I was changing out of my dress and putting on my dance outfit. Akil suggested I dance to impress the King and his demon of a son.
"He meant my race, I'm black and well...they aren't. Cultural differences...I'll never fit in." I answer while adjusting the red bejeweled bra top.
"Relax, that's the beauty in marriage. Being exposed to new and different things. You grow as a person when you learn more. I'm sure they will make sure you are comfortable and besides you have me." She smiles in the mirror
"I still like Caleb." I admit
"Do you like Caleb for Caleb or do you like Caleb because he attends to your lusty needs?" She raises a brow
"I-"A knock on the door cuts me off.
"Come in." I order
The door opens and it was Akil.
"Are you almost done? People are dying to see you." He asks while stepping inside the room
"I just need to put on her waist beads." Keta states and grabs the beads off the dresser.
"Wow, you look beautiful." Akil cheeses while looking at me
"Thank you." I dryly say
"Such a shame you're my blood." He sighs, walks out and closes the door behind him
I roll my eyes at his statement.
"He's such a pig." Keta whispers while clasping the chain
"Tell me about it, it's so disgusting. My father would be angry if he knew the things Akil said to me."I twirl around to make sure the skirt was secure around my hips.
I begin to stretch a bit before letting Keta know I was ready.
We walk back to the party and I head to the dance floor.
Different kingdoms shared different dance styles and I loved that. But I loved ours the most. I make my way to the middle and people begin to clear the floor."Princess Akâsha, will now entertain us with a beautiful dance." Akil's deep voice informs and I look around at the people.
I see Mandisa,King Han and Prince Namjoon sitting at a table. Mandisa wore a scowl on her face while King Han smiled. Prince Namjoon...well he was hard to read, he just looked blankly at me.
I turn my head to the musicians and nod to them.
The drums begin to sound and I begin to slowly pop my hip to the sharp beat. When I dance I feel free, like no one is in the room. I pop my chest as the beat goes on and then the fiddles begin. I spin and move my hips and arms to the beat.I make eye contact with Caleb and immediately feel my body heating up. Once I knew I had his attention I move my hips more. My body moves like a python to the sound of the beat.
The end was nearing and it was my favorite part. Where it's only the sound of the drum. It looks as if the drum is controlling the pop and shake of my hips. Once the vibrato of the drum stops my body freezes.Claps and whistles echoed throughout the large room. I bow to the crowd and then bow to the musicians.
I look back over to the table and King Han was clapping cheerfully. Prince Namjoon still had an expression of boredom.
Mandisa was motioning me to come over. I quickly look to my right and see Caleb motioning me to come over to him too.
I desperately wanted to go and embrace myself in Caleb's arms. But I knew better...my feet carry me in the direction of Mandisa."Princess Akâsha, That was absolutely captivating! In all my years, I've never seen anything like it." King Han smiles
"Thank you." I bow and glance at Prince Namjoon who was now looking around
"Princess, this is my son Prince Namjoon. He has returned from his fe-hunting trip early and decided to come meet you." King Han informs and looks at Prince Namjoon.
"We met earlier, King Han. Although it wasn't under the best circumstances." I state
"The Princess needs to be a bit more aware of her surroundings." Prince Namjoon states and I roll my eyes
"You need to be-"
"Akâsha. We have discussed marriage arrangements. Prince Namjoon will stay here for a week. Then he will take you back to his Kingdom. He will take your hand in marriage on the blood moon eclipse so that gives you a month." She informs
