Saturday afternoon, in your bed
You rolled over on your bed, facing the wall. You unlocked your phone, staring at the text, deciding what to respond with.bil: had a lot of fun tonight with u
wanna go somewhere again, not like motown or sunny's like somewhere coolY/N: yeah actually on tuesday one of my friends invited me to a pool party if you wanna come
bil: that'd be nice but one day this week let's go somewhere special
Y/N: like a fancy restaurant??
bil: yeah! i jus want it to feel like a real date
You felt nervous. What if I picked a stupid place, what if she stops texting me. You imagined situations that could never exist, you snapped yourself out of it, then sent back a simple text.
Y/N: sure i'll look around online!
bil: that'd be nice ty!
You knew for a known fact that the fanciest restaurant in town was Outback Steakhouse. You shivered, Outback Steakhouse.
The last time you were out of town was for a birthday party for someone you met once. You made your way over, stepping over dirty clothes, to your computer. You opened chrome and stared at the blank search bar. Do I just search, 'fancy restaurants near me' or what?
Thinking you didn't even know what to search, this was going to take a while.4:57 p.m
Saturday afternoon, sitting at your
deskYou finally found a nice, but comfortable restaurant, that you could afford. You were currently looking at the menu, so that you would know what to order when you go there.
You never did this on dates, but with Billie, it felt like if you mess this up, at lot is being risked. You recited your order in your head while you wrote it down in your iPhone notes.
"Oh no." You said to yourself. The outfit! What the hell were you going to wear? You shut on your Computer again. You clicked on the vibrant Chrome icon, staring at the search bar. Do I just search, 'fancy dress' or what?5:03 p.m
Saturday evening, on the corner of 51st
streetYou walked down the smoggy sidewalk, scanning the store names as you pet about ten dogs you saw on the way. You were looking for Charlotte's Lace a special dress store, the only one not to far from your complex. They showcase their dresses online, so you already knew which one caught your eye.
the dress:
You were getting it slimmed down, so it wouldn't be too poofy. It was very affordable to your surprise as well, only 32$. You hoped Billie would like it, although she isn't too girly. You wondered what she would wear.
You spotted the store, the name written in a old 50's type font, the windows looked like they were cleaned three seconds ago. You felt sort of out of place.
"Hello, how many I help you?" The old lady asked behind the counter. "Hi, I have a dress I looked at online. Do you think you have it?" You politely asked. You took your phone out of your pocket to show her the picture. She took your phone in her hand, like every adult does when you show them something. "Why yes, I'll grab it." She said, handing over your phone. She stumbled to the back room. You could hear the sound of hangers being pushed.
"Here it is!" She said, walking over boxes to get out of the room. She held up the dress on the hanger to show you the full view. It looked just like the picture. Picture Perfect. "It's very, very pretty." You took the hanger in your hand. "Would you like to try it on?" She said. She tilted her head up. "I'm sure I need to make adjustments to the fit, and cut off lace." She added. She waited for an answer. "Of course, I'll try it on!"
