I met you in the dark
You lit me up
You made me feel as though
I was enough

Michael;

The first time you met Michael was under unique circumstances to say the least, as both of you stood across the room from each other in a party organised for New Years.

Michael spotted you first, his eyes sweeping across the room only to land on the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, looking as lonely as he felt.

His first instinct told him to go and talk to you before anyone else had the chance to steal you away but he couldn't, as hard as he tried he couldn't make himself walk over for he was intimidated that such a beautiful women would already be taken.

Feeling eyes on you, you looked across the room trying to detect the source of the obvious ogling only to make eye contact with the boy you had been first attracted to walking into the party.

You wanted to get up and walk over to him, charm him with your personality; do something but you didn't. Your feet were stuck to your place as if glued to the floor so instead you settled for a smile.

Michael grinned at you, not being able to help himself when you smiled at him. He knew you were probably labelling him as a creepy guy but at that particular moment, he didn't care.

It was him who finally made the first move, getting up and walking across the room to get to you.

You prepared yourself, begging to the gods that you didn't end up sounding like an idiot or saying something embarrassing but all those thoughts faded away from your mind as he sat down in-front of you offering out his hand with a grin, "Hello! I'm Michael and I couldn't help but notice you from across the room."

And that was the start of something beautiful.

I knew I loved you then
But you'd never know
'Cause I played it cool
When I was scared of letting go

Ashton;
It was your wedding day. You had been engaged to Ryan for more than a year now and his proposal had come as a shock, but with no reason to deny it; you accepted and here you were 2 months later in your wedding dress wondering if you'd made the right choice.

With tears started streaming down your face you called Ashton knowing he'd be downstairs with everyone else but still needed his support.

Ashton sighed, he was at the wedding of the girl he had loved all his life. But she wasn't getting married to him. No! She had to marry that idiotic perfect Ryan who could apparently do no wrong.

Ryan was a good person and Ash knew that, but he still hated him; hated him for getting the girl that he had longed for his whole life.

He was standing alone wishing for it to be over soon when his phone rang. Surprised at Y/N's name flashing across his phone Ashton picked up in a hurry; his heart beating fast like it always did when he spoke to you.

"Ash I need you - please come upstairs, please" You begged sobbing and slurring your words.

That was all it took for Ashton to put down his glass on a table and rush upstairs wanting to know what had made you upset on the biggest day of your life.

Seeing the girl he loved in the most beautiful wedding gown, standing in the mirror sobbing her eyes out took Ash's breath away and he found himself incapable to speak for a few minutes as he stood staring at you waiting for you to notice him; ogling like an idiot.

But when you did notice him, you didn't care about any of that as you rushed at him throwing your arms around his neck hugging him close to your chest.

"Am I doing the right thing Ash? I don't know - I'm so confused, nothing seems right anymore"

He sighed. He knew that if he wanted to, he could've and most probably should have confessed his feelings, should've told you that Ryan wasn't right for you; leave you even more confused.

But Ashton loved you. And he knew that he had lost his chance before. So he smiled grabbing your face with both hands resisting the urge to kiss you.

"You're just getting cold feet Y/N, I promise everything will be okay. It's your wedding day baby girl I'd be worried if you weren't nervous"

"You're right, I'm freaking out for nothing" You smiled through the tears feeling reassured. Ashton's voice enough to sooth your nerves.

That day Ashton saw you walk down the aisle and get married to someone that wasn't him and he knew; he'd never truly love someone like he had loved you.
