SIX MONTHS LATER

The wind felt cool and rejuvenating on Harper's face as she sped down the highway, a generic pop song blaring on the radio. She had sunglasses on, her golden hair tied up in a loose ponytail.

Beside her, her boyfriend sat, casually humming along to the music. Will was wearing a plain white t-shirt and blue denim jeans. He had one hand resting on the windowsill of the car, and the other gently placed on Harper's knee.

As the song ended and the radio transitioned in a commercial, Harper turned to Will. "I thought you hated pop music?"

"Hate's a strong word. Let's just say I dislike it."

"Dislike, then." Harper slowed the car as they turned off of the highway. "Still, you were singing along. How come?"

"Oh, come on, Harps," Will restlessly bounced a leg, his expression one of anxiety. "You know why."

"We're just going to see my parents, Will!"

"That's it!" Will let go of her knee, rubbing the palms of his hands together in nervousness. "I'm going to see your parents. Don't you see how nerve-wracking this is?"

"Will," she let go of the steering wheel as the car came to a stop at a red light. Turning to him, Harper gently placed a light kiss on his cheek, wrapping her fingers around his. "Don't stress, okay? They'll love you."

Will smiled, but Harper could still see the agitation in his eyes. "Hey," she said again, cupping his cheek with her hand. "They will. I promise. Just be yourself."

Will let out a shaky laugh. "The first time we talked, I was being myself, and you thought I was terribly obnoxious."

"And I hated your jokes."

"And you hated my jokes."

The light changed to green, and Harper let go of Will to drive. "But look at us now." She flashed him a quick smile. "You're not so bad after all, Will. After all, why would I be with you if I hated you?"

This time, when Will smiled, Harper could see that although he remained on edge, his shoulders tense and his feet restlessly tapping, there was a kind of calm reflected in his eyes. "You still hate my jokes, though."

"Nah," Harper shrugged as they turned left, heading down a small side road and then coming to a stop at the modest brick house. "They're not that bad."

The two of them exited Harper's car and stepped onto the sidewalk. Harper readjusted her sunglasses, then slipped her hand into Will's. They looked at each other, basked in the glow of the afternoon sun, and Harper whispered, "This is it."

Will let out a breath, readjusting his shirt, and gave Harper's hand a squeeze. She squeezed back. It had been a little over six months since their friendship turned into a romance, but her heart still got fluttery whenever she looked at him. He was her everything, and she his.

They walked up to the mahogany front door in silence, just taking in the scenery and enjoying each other's company. Harper pressed the doorbell, and almost instantly, the door swung open.

"Harper!" It was her father who greeted them first, a large smile plastered on his face. He had greying hair and kind eyes, and as Harper's father turned to Will for a handshake, Harper could see that he had visibly relaxed. "You must be Will."

"I am," Will's voice was no longer shaky, but full of his usual charm and confidence. The qualities and Harper had fallen in love with, even if she would never admit it. "Thank you for having me."

"Oh, no problem!" This time, it was Harper's mother that had spoke. She had materialized behind her husband, and before either of them could say anything, had engulfed Will in a crushing hug. They all let out a laugh as Will hugged Harper's mother back.

"Why, come in! You must have had a long journey. Dinner's ready." Harper's mother ushered them all in with a welcome smile.

"Thank you so much," Will's hand was once again wrapped around Harper's, and she leaned against his shoulder.

"I told you that you would be fine," she murmured, low so that her parents couldn't hear.

Will placed a soft kiss on her head. "You're right, hotline girl. As always."

She hesitated in the hallway, letting her parents go ahead. Quick as a flash, she kissed Will, her love, on the lips, "I love you."

"I love you too."

They stood there together for what seemed like an eternity but could've only been a few seconds, before Harper's mother poked her head around the corner. "Are you two lovebirds coming? Dinner's set and waiting!"

Harper chuckled, and the two of them headed into the dining room with her mother. "Now, Will," her mother remarked, "I heard you quite like pizza."

Will grinned and glanced at Harper, who winked back. "Why yes," he said, "I quite like that dish."

"Well, we thought that you'd enjoy something that you're familiar with, so for dinner, we baked pizza. I hope that's alright with you."

"That's so kind of you," said Will, still grinning at Harper. "That's perfectly fine with me."

They entered the dining room, where the long wooden table was set. On the table rested several plates of steaming hot pizza with sides such as mashed potato, chicken wings, and salads. Harper sat down at the table next to Will, their hands still clasped together. As Harper's parents headed into the kitchen to retrieve some water, Will glanced at Harper curiously.

"Did you set this up?"

"No."

Will looked at her suspiciously. "You sure?"

"No!" She nudged him on the elbow, chuckling. "I just mentioned one time that you liked pizza. They must've remembered."

"Well," he replied, flashing Harper another one of his classic winks that she'd grown to love over the months. "You don't call me pizza boy for nothing."

Harper laughed, and it was there, surrounded with her parents and the boy she loved, that she knew she was in paradise.

"That's right, Will," she said, as Harper's parents returned with a glass jug full of water. Her heart swelled, and she gave his hand another squeeze. "That's right."

A/N:

That's it, guys. This is the end of Wattpad Helpline. The end of Harper and Will's (hotline girl and pizza boy's) story.

I initially published this story on February 23, 2019. This chapter was written on April 27, 2019. The last two months have been amazing. I can't believe people actually enjoyed this book and were reading it. If you've made it up to here, thank you. You're incredible, and you have all my love and appreciation.

After this book, I'll be focusing on some of my other projects. Will I write another dialogue story? You bet! I actually have one planned, but it'll need a lot of polishing before I publish it. No, it won't be a sequel. I like where I've left Harper and Will, and I don't think I'll be expanding their story.

As always, if you enjoyed this chapter, please leave a vote or a comment! They make my day <3
