An Ending So Sweet
As days go on, I can't describe how fortunate I am to have my family. Living here, in this house, this small counrty side town, I feel safe andirelaxed for once. Beth has grown ever so beautiful. Our children, ever so sweet. Tyreese and Carol have finally professed their love to us. I'm happy that things are working out for us. What used to be Hell, is now... well somewhat of a perfect Heaven.
I no longer worry about walkers or losing Beth. I no longer wake up through the night unless it's to pee or tell Beth how much I love her. That isn't our life any more. Walkers don't consume us. We don't fight other people, we savor them as friends. Friends. Huh, I miss Rick, and Michone, and everyone else. Though, I'm sad they never got to see this beautiful outcome, I am elated that they are up in heaven.
Yes, I believe now in Heaven. Beth has that way with people. She gets them to believe without forcing it. Hershel would be so proud of her. I'm proud of her. She has given me something I never thought possible. A daughter, love, and hope.
Taylor Grace is growing strong everyday. Her hair is now full blonde, like Beth's. Her eyes, dark blue like mine, and her gentleness, that of our whole family. I have no doubt that Hershel is watching over her, along with Maggie. Just as I know Rick and Carl are watching over Judith, who now speaks full, non-slurring sentences. She is strong and brillient. I have no doubt in my mind that she will grow up to be a survivor, even though there's no need for surviving, when no walkers exist here any more, it seems.
Bentley, my son, has grown strong and handsome. His fear of Beth has subsided a long time ago. Unfortunatly, Sarg's death has hit him hard as it has us all. But, Bentley has the faith to believe he's up with his own family now. Because much like my whole family, he has faith. Has faith in all of us and this world that used to turn the dead walking.
"Daryl! Alex needs tucked in!"
"Coming!"
Did I mention Beth and I had another baby. His name is Alexander Hershel Merle Dixon. And I'm glad to say, I was there the day he was born.
So this is my life now. I wrote this story for you because time has given me that. And to my old friend Dr. I follow his wise words.
"Write. Because in times to come, others will look to your writings for hope."
Goodnight.
