     Alive // louis

"DUDE, you can't just stay cooped up in your room forever, c'mon." a voice persuaded from behind the locked door. it was almost as if he had placed himself on house arrest -- except he refused to even move from his place in bed. he had even built a fort out of pillows and blankets, closed the shades, and turned off any source of light. even his phone was off since the lads had decided to spam him with messages once ("sOS FIRE FIRE" "GTFO DO U WANNA DIE!!???!11" "im knocking down the door in 5 4 3 2 wait pizzA") (well, it was mostly harry, but..). he was lost in his own little world of useless tears and endless pain.

                "yes i can, go away."

"oh c'mon. can you at least go out drinking with us? maybe that'll help ya."

he did want to forget, but the problem was getting out of bed and facing reality and people. they'd see the ugly purple bruises under his eyes and the paleness of his skin. he hadn't been out of that room for a week straight (thankfully he had his own bathroom). the few bits of food he actually let himself eat after his stomach begged for something edible to digest, had been bagged chips and water bottles he found in his room. fortunately, he hadn't died of starvation.

                  "no, leave me alone."

"how much more time alone do you need? it's been like, a month since you've been out of that room. i bet it smells.."

"two months actually. i even managed to make a hole in the wall with just a spoon that i found under my bed," louis replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes. "just leave me alone, harry."

"i already did for three months. now c'mon, we're going even if i have to climb through the window to get you out, so put on some nice clothes and get your big butt out of that room."

with a groan, he denied once again. it kept going like this for a while; harry yelling at louis to come out and louis refusing to come out, claiming he he was not ready to come out of the womb that was the fort he had constructed ("you can't rush delivery, okay?"). it was weird, but it was louis, so like, it wasn't weird.

a few curse words, a bit of yelling, and one knocked down door later, louis was sat in the back seat of a car tied down by the seatbelt, headed towards a local bar with his friends. no one spoke throughout the ride, other than harry trying to spark up some conversation ("sooooo... the weather?"). it was all quiet, but peaceful.

- -

the smell of strong alcohol filled his nostrils, somehow making his tense figure relax. every lad had gone in different directions, going to do their own thing and escape to their own place. louis didn't know what to do so he just sat down at the bar, ordering a drink. he didn't really know why he had let them drag him here, it was like kidnapping.. sort of. either way, he'd be stuck here all night until he'd somehow get a ride home. sighing, he continued on drinking and watching people around him drunk off their asses. it wasn't long 'til he became one of them and stumbled over to the dance floor where most people were. it was as if all his senses were turned off and he couldn't even figure out where he was. he couldn't make things out, but he knew he had to get something off his mind. he needed to forget something, but he didn't remember what.

making his way through swarms of hot, sweaty bodies, he finally settled on a small figure. he could tell it was a girl by it's feminine features. he placed his hands on the stranger's hips and began dancing, the stranger not protesting. they kept that up and soon they were walking out of the club, names not even known. a 'you're place or mine?' was asked followed by a 'mine' coming from louis' mouth, causing a white cloud to appear as he exhaled. it was a chilly night. the beginning of fall season.

louis didn't realize what he was doing as he was too drunk. but once he got into the apartment, girl in tow, something hit him inside as if he was doing something wrong. he didn't know what it was and frankly, he didn't care at the moment. leading the pretty girl towards his room, he felt another pang but ignored it and pushed the girl in as they kissed each other roughly. it was like his pain was forgotten and someone else was actually with him. maybe it wouldn't last, but for now, he decided to enjoy someone else's company. whatever he was meant to forget was left back at the club. something new with a new person was about to happen in this room.

                                                the end.
