Miyagi-Do Karate

Chapter 3: Shadows of the past

Samuel had just finished his practice with Daniel when he drove to his house, took a shower, changed into clean clothing, and got to West Valley High. It wasn't the first day of school yet. No, it was the start of summer band, and Samuel was on his way to audition into their high school band program. Samuel got inside and took a picture of a map of the school from inside it's halls before following it to the band hall.
"Are you Mr. Samuel Parker?" asked the band director once Samuel went inside.
"Yes sir." Samuel replied.
"You're on time. Good. Grab a tuba and let's start your auditions." the director ordered.

"So you know, that robot camp is coming up. Are you sure you don't want to go? Aisha might be disappointed." Daniel told Samanths after she told him that she didn't want to go to robot camp.
"Yeah. I'll tell her sorry when I see her in school. It's just... I don't want to disappoint my new friends." Samantha explained. Daniel sighed. He didn't like Samantha's new friends, he'd rather she hang around with Aisha or Samuel than someone like Yasmine, a pampered, spoiled Encino brat.

Ramon was outside of his apartment, trying to learn karate from a book. Then the blonde man, who Ramon thought was just a constantly drunk guy, walked out of his apartment to his car.
"Are you trying to learn karate from a book?" the blonde man asked.
"Yeah." Ramon answered.
"You won't get far that way. Find a real dojo, kid." the blonde man said before he got in his red Firebird and drove away.
"Maybe I should visit Miyagi-Do and see if they are still taking students." Ramon thought out loud.

When Ramon made it to Miyagi-Do Karate, Daniel was teaching a group of beginners. Ramon sighed.
"It looks too full right now. And... maybe LaRusso wouldn't teach a guy from Reseda. Or at least guy from Reseda that DIDN'T meet his daughter when they were kids." Ramon stated before he drove back home.

"Wow... you are really something special. You're a very talented musician. You should audition for jazz band next week, you did say you also played bass guitar right?" The school band director asked Samuel after his audition. Samuel nodded.
"Yes sir." Samuel replied.
"Well, are you planning to audition next week?" the director asked. Samuel nodded.
"I was in jazz band back in my old school in Fresno, I'd love to audition!" Samuel replied.

"Damn bastard fired me!" said the blonde man once he got to the apartment complex. Ramon was almost surprised to see him. Almost. But what he was surprised to see was the guy almost looked familiar somehow. He almost looked like the Cobra Kai guy that lost to Daniel LaRusso back in the '84 All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament, a fight that has been watched all over the world thanks to YouTube. Old recordings of the fight kept the memory of that legendary fight alive among martial arts enthusiast everywhere. Then that's when Ramon realized... this was that same guy... Johnny Lawrence, who had previously been a karate champion himself before the events of 1984.
"No way." Ramon said in shock as he got out of his car to talk to Johnny.
"Hey, hey you! Are you Johnny Lawrence?" Ramon asked.
"Who's asking?" Johnny asked.
"I'm Ramon Aguilar... and I'm looking for someone to teach me karate." Ramon said. Johnny scoffed.
"No way. I don't do karate anymore. You're on your own." Johnny said as he started to walk away. Ramon sighed before he was tossed into Johnny's car.
"Hey kid... I said no, but I didn't want you to attack the... oh did you punks just throw a dude at my car?" Johnny asked.
"Kyler said hi, chair guy!" one of the teens said before he shoved Ramon into the car again.

"GET AWAY FROM THE CAR!" Johnny yelled before he kicked the guy that shoved Ramon in the face. Ramon got on his feet.
"Never accept defeat!" Ramon said before he punched a guy in the face. Johnny flinched when he heard Ramon say that. It reminded him of the old days... when he was his strongest self... the days when he was the top student at Cobra Kai. Johnny kicked another teen in the face and dodged a punch from another teen, throwing a punch to the teens face as a counter attack. Ramon punched the guy he was fighting again before the teens started to run away.
"Forget Kyler... this old blonde dude is insane. Let's go!" a teen said as theg ran. Johnny sighed and he looked at Ramon.
"You really don't want to accept any type of defeat?" Johnny asked.
"I don't want defeat in my vocabulary!" Ramon replied.
"Tell you what kid. I need to call a guy I know named Mike to get me a job.. but I'll teach you karate on times I'm off." Johnny said.
"You'll be my karate teacher?" Ramon asked.
"No. I'll be your sensei!".Johnny replied.
