"Alright, Samuel!! Let's go!!" Daniel yelled as Samuel continued to run laps around on obstacle course he made on the beach. Samuel jumped over a log and kicked a practice dummy before continuing on his way through the course. Samuel then let himself fall into the sand below and begun to army crawl under the last obstacle. Samuel had been nearly finished with a long maze worth of challenges Daniel had set up for him. After he finally finished the course, Samuel sighed in relief.
"Good job." Daniel complimented."What exactly was this course supposed to teach me anyway?" Samuel asked tiredly as he sat in the sand.
"Nothing in particular. It's testing your endurance. At the All Valley Tournament, you're going to be fighting match after match in the same day. You may be a damn good fighter, but so are those you may be fighting against. Your body needs to be able to stay in motion constantly and not get tired. Your mind needs to be ready to stay aware and continue to study your opponent even if it's your tenth match." Daniel explained. Samuel nodded before Daniel checked his phone for time.
"We have thirty minutes. And you did bring a spare change in clothes, right?" Daniel asked. Samuel nodded. He was currently in a worn down white shirt and some swimming trunks.
"Good. Use these next few minutes to get yourself into the water and review your balance." Daniel said. Samuel stood up and nodded.
"Roger that, Mr. LaRusso." Samuel replied as he ran towards the water.
Meanwhile:
Ramon, Miguel, and the rest of the Cobra Kai students were in a junkyard. Johnny drank a beer before he began to speak to his students.
"You've trained hard! You've gotten stronger, tougher, faster. You've done your best. You're ready for this tournament am I right?" Johnny asked his students."YES SENSEI!" Ramon and the other Cobra Kai students yelled enthusiastically.
"WRONG!" Johnny yelled as he threw his now empty beer can in the direction of the students, landing in front of Ramon's left shoe.
"Your best ain't shit! If you want to win the All-Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament, you gotta give me better than your best! Which is why from now on, you're gonna get my worst. You understand?" Johnny yelled as he paced on top of a large van in that was in front of his students.
"YES SENSEI!" His students yelled.
"ARE YOU LOSERS?" Johnny yelled.
"NO, SENSEI!" Ramon and the others yelled.
"ARE YOU NERDS?" Johnny yelled.
"NO, SENSEI!" The students yelled again.
"ARE YOU SURE?" Johnny yelled.
"YES SENSEI!" Ramon yelled as the rest of the students yelled out "NO SENSEI!" Johnny and Ramon both did a double facepalm as a result of this.
"Just... start the obstacle course!" Johnny groaned.
Despite both being tested beyond their limits, Samuel and Ramon felt alive during their respective training sessions as Samuel was put into a longer obstacle course while Ramon ran through Johnny's course.
"PUSH THROUGH THE PAIN, SAMUEL!" Daniel yelled.
"MOVE FASTER AGUILAR! DON'T BE A PANSY!" Johnny yelled out.
Next Daniel and Samuel (now in clean dry clothes at the LaRusso dojo at Daniel's house) were sparring. Daniel's experience kept Samuel on edge, but Samuel was physically quicker than Daniel, allowing him to surprise his teacher just as much as his teacher surprised him. Meanwhile, Johnny gave Ramon and his fellow Cobra Kai students baseball bats.
