Chapter 9: History of Samuel part 1

Years ago:
After a young kid Samuel spoke with his parents about learning karate from Daniel and Miyagi after he was saved from bullies by Daniel.
"We'll teach you karate, but you have to promise us that you will follow our rules about the martial art. Deal?" Daniel asked a young Samuel Parker after Daniel had saved Samuel from some Encino bullies.
"Deal." Samuel replied.
"Good. Come. We got to my house Samuel-san. Training begin there." Miyagi said. As Samuel, Daniel, Samantha, and Mr. Miyagi got out of Daniel's house, Samuel smiled when he saw the reason he was attacked safe. Samuel had stepped in to save a dog that a few Encino guys were throwing rocks at. The dog ran to it's owner happily, playing with the kid who owned it.
"Hey kid. Tell your parents to keep your dog in your yard. Some people aren't so nice." Daniel yelled to the kid.
"Kay!" the kid replied.

(Karate Kid ost: The Pact starts to play)
"Wow. There's lots of cars here." Samuel told Mr. Miyagi and the others.
"Yes. Old cars, but in need of waxing." Miyagi replied. When Daniel parked, everyone got out of the car. And Daniel explained the motion behind wax on, wax off.
"Wax on and Wax off are circular motions." Daniel said.
"Aye. Wax on, right hand. Wax off, left hand." Mr. Miyagi added.
"You gotta make sure to control your breathing. Breath in, breath out." Daniel instructed.
"Very important that you breath, Samuel-san." Miyagi added. As Samuel started getting to work, Daniel sent Samantha to help, as a way to review the basic blocks he taught her.
"What does this have to do with karate?" Samuel asked.
"You'll see. I'm Samantha by the way. So, I guess I'm Sam too!" Samantha greeted. Samuel smiled.
"So I'm Sam One?" Samuel asked.
"I didn't mean like a number!" Samantha replied.

After the two Sams finished, the two young kids sat on the ground.
"I feel like I wanna take a nap." Samuel said. Samantha nodded.
"Me too. But I'm thisty too. I wonder if Mr. Miyagi has orange juice." Samantha said before she got on her feet and went inside, followed by a curious Samuel.
"You two finished up?" Daniel asked.
"Yes Dad. But we're thirsty. Mr. Miyagi, do you have orange juice?" Samantha replied. Mr. Miyagi chuckled.
"Yes. I go get orange juice. Daniel-san, please get kids cups. They not going to be able to reach top cabinet." Miyagi replied. Daniel nodded and went to get some cups for the two Sams.

Some weeks had passed, and many chores were done. Samuel had gotten frustrated.
"Am I even learning anything?" Samuel asked as he spoke to Daniel. Daniel looked at Mr. Miyagi, who chuckled.
"Should you do it, or should I?" Daniel asked.
"You showed with Samantha, this time Miyagi show." Mr. Miyagi replied before he walked over to Samuel.
"Come Samuel-san, come and see." Mr. Miyagi said and Samuel followed Mr. Miyagi. Daniel and Samantha followed them, eager to see how Samuel would react when all is revealed.

"Show me, Sand the floor." Miyagi said. Samuel started to go to the floor and Miyagi sighed.
"Not literally... do the motion standing up." Daniel said. Samuel stood up and did the circular motion down.
"Good. Big circle. Sand the floor." Miyagi said as the two did the block again.
"Umm... I'm confused." Samuel said.
"Show me. Wax on, Wax off." Miyagi said.
"Wax on, Wax off." Samuel said as he did the blocks.
"Good. Only, lock hand. Thumb inside." Miyagi said as he moved Samuel's hand in order to demonstrate the block. Samuel's eyes widened.
"No way...." Samuel said. Daniel chuckled.
"You caught on faster than I did." Daniel said.
"Show me more!" Samuel said with excitement.
"Paint the fense. Next we do paint the fense. Up, down. Always look eye." Miyagi instructed. Samuel said before repeating his actions with the other arm.
"Good. Show me, paint the house, side side." Miyagi instructed. Samuel did the motion of painting the house.
"Lock wrist. When do side side." Miyagi said. Samuel did as he was told.
"Now... prepare." Miyagi said.
"Wait... you aren't going to tell him which block to use?" Daniel asked. Miyagi smile.
"Samuel-San will know." Miyagi replied before he threw a punch at Samuel, but it was blocked quickly due to wax on, wax off.
"Whoa." Samuel said before Miyagi continued the attacks. Samuel went through all of the blocks he learned in order to make sure Miyagi didn't land a single blow. He knew Miyagi was holding back... but he also knew if he'd gotten hit, it'll still hurt. People do not often hold back in real fight, he figured. Miyagi bowed.
"Good. But before bow... remember always look eye. Daniel-San used to make mistake in beginning of karate training a lot, not always looking eye." Miyagi warned. Daniel sighed at being exposed, much to Samantha's amusement.
