"We're almost there you guys!" Jessica exclaims as trees surround the vehicle. Jessica is driving her friends, Erinne and Emily to a vacation home for a special occasion, Erinne's birthday. "Why are we doing this again?" Erinne groans at her friend from the passengers seat. Jessica glances at Erinne before focusing on the road again, "Because it's your birthday tomorrow, duh." Erinne rolls her eyes at her friend, "Jess, 17 isn't a big deal." Jessica doesn't look at Erinne but shows a look of surprise on her face, "17 is a big deal, it's on step closer to being an adult." Jessica then turns on the radio, instantly singing along to Bring me to life. Erinne chimes in as well, singing her heart out. Emily on the other hand is sitting quietly in the back seat. As they continue getting closer to the house, Emily begins hearing a voice. The voice is familiar yet different, she can't pinpoint whose voice it is. The voice says, "You're going to help me." "No I'm not." Emily says and the whole car gets silent. Jessica and Emily glance at Emily and ask, "What?" Emily just shakes her head and leans her head on the window, "Nothing." "You will help. Find the book." Then the voice leaves, leaving Emily confused.
After a few minutes they arrived at the cabin. Jessica parks and looks at her friends, her voice full of excitement, "We're here!" Erinne just gives a small smile unbuckling her seat belt before getting out of the car, going to grab stuff from the back. Emily doesn't look at either of them, waiting til they head in before getting out.
Emily grabs some stuff from the trunk and follows the others inside. It is a really big place, it looks homey, yet to Emily, it gives off a bad vibe. Jessica takes the things from the two and begins putting them in the fridge. "Can we help?" The two ask and Jessica shakes her head, "just go sit down." They nod slowly and do as they are told.
After a few minutes Emily stands, "I'm going to lay down. I have a headache." She tells them before looking for a room. Once she finds one, she peaks inside. The room has two beds in it, and a small bookshelf. Emily curiously heads over to the books, starting to look through them. As her fingers roam over the books, she freezes as one catches her eye. This book looks rather old and torn up, bound in leather. She bites her lip in thought before slowly picking it up. This was a bad idea, a bad idea indeed. Chills crawl up her spine as the voice from earlier speaks, Thank you, You've found it. Emily inhales sharply, quickly putting the book back. Slowly getting back onto her feet, she seems as if nothing had just happened. Instead of wondering why she is infront of a bookshelf, she walks over to a bed, lying down, falling asleep almost instantly.
Jessica finishes putting the things into the fridge and goes to check on Emily. As she approaches the door, rustling can be heard from inside. Thump thump. Jessica's heart begins to race worriedly, quickly opening the door. Books are scattered around the ground, yet, Emily is still fast asleep. Confused, Jessica leaves the room.
