Winter's POV
I gasped as I was jolted out of my sleep from the freezing cold water collapsing over my filthy skin. I sat up from my now drenched floor and gasped but was given no time to recover as two bulking figures snatched my arms and shackled them together.
Water dripped from my body as my legs struggled to keep up with the long strides of the men who held me. Neither of them talked or looked at me as they dragged out of the room but as I looked behind me to see my blond-haired cell mate give me a curt nod of encouragement.
Today's the day.
I hadn't fought properly for the last few days to ensure I wouldn't be injured meaning I caught up in a year's worth of sleep and for the first time since I had been captured, I didn't feel like I was on the verge of passing out. I didn't even realise how exhausted I was until I was able to sleep-in when the wolves had to go out and train. I slept for the entire day and only woke when the food was served. I hadn't felt this relived in a long time and I hated that it would have to go back to normal once the fight was over.
Maybe Markus might reward me when I win.
I almost scoffed at the thought. Markus, merciful? Never.
As I was dragged through the maze of twists and turns of the cement corridors, I attempted to memorise the directions, but it was impossible. Just grey corridors everywhere. No windows, no sun, no earth. Just grey.I felt a rush of adrenaline as I thought of all the things I would get to see and smell today. It had been a long time since I felt this exited and I was almost skipping. Well I would have been if these brutes would slow down and allow me to get my feet under myself.
We finally reach the end of the corridor and stop at a door which looked like it could hold the hulk in. it was slightly rusted around the edges but didn't allow a single drop of sunlight enter the room.
I gasped as one of the men hold let go almost making fall to the ground but the other mutt yanked me up and I finally stood up properly.
"A warning next time wou-" My voice was cut off as the man who let me go hauled something over my head cutting off what little vision I had and gave me a firm smack to the back of my head.
"No talking kitty cat," He whispered into my ear sending shivers down my spine.
None of the guards had ever tried to touch me inappropriately but the comments were constant and never failed to shock me even if I didn't show it. I had no time to respond as one of the mutts pushed the door open and a wave of senses and relief flooded my body.
I was finally outside, it didn't even matter that it was freezing cold or I couldn't see because my nose told me everything. There were plenty of wolves lurking about but I could hear the birds chirping and the gentle gusts of wind in the surrounding trees. I could smell the pollen radiating off winter flowers and the feeling of frost between my toes made me want to squeal with joy. If I didn't have the sack over my head the whole pack would have seen my smile which stretched from ear to ear.
I heard a few low growls and snarls from behind me but I took no notice of the wolves.
All talk and no bite.
I almost gasped when the earth under me turned into the familiar cool feeling of cement.
"Stairs." One of the mutts announced but gave me no time to process it until my bare foot kicked into something hard.
"Ow! You dammit!" The words came stumbling out of my mouth before I could think better.
There was an eerie silence for a few petrifying moments as we stopped on the first step.
"I told you..." The mutt said whilst both of them placed an arm on my hips causing me to freeze. "Not to talk."
