I walked down the streets of Gotham looking around at the old buildings and people burning things in ally ways. I put my hand over my mouth and cough due to the smog in the air, so this is where I was born even though my parents begged me to stay in California I was desperate to see my birthplace and maybe I should have stayed in California... I finally stopped in front of a large building that said 'GOTHAM GCPD' my father worked here while my mother was pregnant with me and when she had me they decided to leave because they didn't want me to grow up and something happen to me. I opened the door and walked inside, police officers were running around reading papers and yelling at each other one man was yelling at everyone to hurry and grab there guns due to a robbery that was happening not far I believe it was? Wow action already and I just walked through the doors. I headed over to a women sitting at a desk and she typing on the computer she glanced up at me with no interest and back down
"Excuse me? I came here to apply for a job" I said a little loudly
"That's nice..." she mumbled and blew a bubble with her gum
"I called on the phone can you please just direct where to go" I said my eyes darting around hoping I could find it myself. She looked up and pointed a finger over to a big office over looking all the desks
"Captain James Gordon go talk to him" I looked at the office and thanked her and trotted over. I was about to knock on the door when I felt a someone behind me
"Can I help you?" A deep voice said behind me I turned around and saw who I presume was James Gordon standing there with his hands on his hips. He looked extremely stressed and tired I guess that's what happened when you were captain.
"Hi I came to apply for a job here" he raised his eyebrows and told me to follow him inside the office and I sat down at the chair in front of the desk
"We are gonna have to hurry there's a robbery not far I just sent a few of my men there but I might need to go" I nodded and put down some papers for him to read, my past jobs and criminal records (clean)
"Your Jacob Marley's daughter?" He said sounding surprised and shocked
"Yes I came back to see my birthplace and I wanted to work here because well he worked here so I wanted to continue the legacy because I heard he was an amazing police officer" I smiled and Gordon nodded and smiled back and placed the papers down on the table.
"The best he was gonna be the new captain but he left after he said you were born, but I'm happy to see you wanna continue his legacy" I nodded and he stood and put his hand out in a shaking motion and I slowly stood up and grabbed it
"Welcome to the GCPD y/n"
