A special day

4 weeks later
Katniss pov

I've been working for two hours at the army building. No one has come yet which is boring. Johanna is taking a nap on one of the vaccine tables, Annie is playing with a piece of rope, the new girl Madge is...I don't know what she is doing but what I'm doing is sitting at the front desk thinking about tonight. Peeta decided that he is going to make a picnic dinner and share some news. He didn't tell me if it was bad or good news. I also have news for him.

As four more long hours pass Captain Haymitch decided that we can go home. I grab my purse and my coat from the nurse office. As I grab my purse something caught my eye. A piece of paper that has my name on it. I open the paper and read what it says...

Dear my beloved Katniss,
     I know I told you to meet me at the Dandelion park at seven but I changed my mind. I want to meet at five in the evening. Make sure you wear warm and comfortable clothes tonight.

I look at the clock and it's already three thirty. As I quickly walk to my house I wondered why he changed the time and how he got the note in my purse since I was sitting at the front desk all day.

Peeta pov

All day I've been thinking how to purpose to Katniss and tell her that I'm moving to Pearl Harbor in a month. Her father said yes to the engagement and he told me that she could move with me at the army base if she said yes. My brother Aldous has been bugging me all day. Saying how happy he is that am purposing to Katniss and begging to come with. I told him I'll tell how it goes later. 

I check the clock. It's three thirty. I check the basket: Sandwiches, Strawberries, Soda, A piece of cake and Cheese buns. I grab the basket and the blanket and start walking out of the house. As I'm starting the car I feel like I'm forgetting something.

I get to the empty park and set everything out. I look around the place. Peaceful and soft music coming from the band in Larry's, a dance place. I lay down and enjoy the music. 

About six in the evening I see Katniss running in a blue plaid dress with loose mid length sleeves. Her front hair is pined back. I stand up.

"I'm so sorry I'm late. Prim haled me back because her stupid cat was sick and I wasn't ready yet..." She said.

I interrupted her " It's fine Katniss. You look beautiful." I give her a peck on her lips.

Katniss never likes it when I call her beautiful or pretty, she just ignores it and blushes or she wIll say she's ugly.

We sat down on the blanket and ate our meal. Katniss complains how her job is now getting boring and the new girl, Madge never works. I told her to get a new job but she couldn't. Then I asked her why?

"I have to move to Pearl Harbor in a month because they want nurses over there just in case the Japanese come and attack." She said with sadness. Okay then were both moving to Pearl Harbor.

"I'm moving to Pearl Harbor there too, katniss." I said.

"I don't believe you." I give her the letter.

"Dear Mr.Mellark,

In one month you and your troop will be moving to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and train there till.." She stops there. I don't know if this is the time to ask her the question or if I should wait a little bit longer. 

I decide now before Katniss starts talking. I put my hand in the coat to get the ring but the ring is not there. Crap! Okay Peeta find something like a ring. There's a dandelion by me. I pick the weed and make a loop and tie it. I look up to see katniss standing and looking away. I stand up and told her to turn around.

"Katniss, I've loved you since the day we met at the army sign up building and everyday since then has made me happier and better man. Whether we are one thousand miles apart or right next to each other at the diner, I always feel close to you knowing we have a bright future together. We take care of each other in bad times or in happy times. Whenever I think about the future, I always see you and me taking it on together, and I'd look forwards to every little surprise and laughter I can give you." I can see Katniss is already crying. "I love you so much Katniss, will you marry me?" and showed her the dandelion ring.

"Yes. Yes, I'll marry you." She said. I put the ring on her finger and smiled like there's no tomorrow.I pick her up and spin around once.

"You don't know how much I'm happy right now." I gave her a kiss. I can hear the band in Larry's playing Moonlight serenade. "let's dance."

"No. You know I can't dance." She said.

"I'll go slow." I grab her hand and put one hand on her waist. Katniss puts her other hand on my shoulder and we start to dance slow under the starry night in the park."Just to let you know, I have the real ring at my house. I just forgot it since I was all nervous."

"It's fine Peeta. I love this ring better." She told me. We kept dancing for a while till Katniss told me more news. "I'm pregnant Peeta." I stop in place.

"What? How..how long?" I asked.

"Three weeks." She starts crying on my shoulder. "I can't have the baby Peeta. I'm not ready."

"Shh Katniss everything will be okay. I'll be along the way no matter what." I reassured her.

"Always?"

"Always."

Hehe! I'm sure you didn't expect Katniss to be pregnant! and Happy Remembrance day for Pearl Harbor! I might update again in 2 two weeks maybe.
