I packed a bag of just a few necessary items, not that I had very many in the first place. Surtur never wanted me to become too attached to material objects, which I suppose wasn't a bad thing. But like everything else, he took it to a very extreme level.

I buttoned a cloak over my top, pulling the hood over my face and throwing my bag over my shoulder before sneaking out. I didn't really know where I was going, but I had an idea of how to leave. It was fairly unlikely to work, but I knew had to l try it before doing anything else.

I summoned a cluster of ice magic, the frozen material surrounding me on command. I had one shot, and as much as Surtur might've "cared" for me, if I failed and was caught, I'd be punished to point of begging for death. Even that would be better than being ruler of this terrible place, but I won't let it come to either of those.

I yelled out into the universe, knowing the number of cosmic eyes watching that may be able to help me. "I SUMMON THE BIFROST! I BEG THEE TO TAKE ME ANYWHERE BUT HERE! THAT I MIGHT BE SPARED AND ABLE TO LIVE A LIFE OF MY OWN!"

I close my eyes and waited anxiously. I don't know much about the other realms, but I'm certain that the gate keeper Heimdall is the one who controls the bridge that connects them. He's always watching, so please, see me now... I'm begging-

Then, suddenly, a blindingly bright stream of multicolored light shot down from above. It began to beam me up to what I could only hope was a safe world, light years away from here. I flew through space at an incredible speed, marveling at the sublime view along the way.

As I remained on my way, I felt myself get light headed. I've... never been in the bifrost before. I, m-must not, be used to it... I'm, going to...

I strolled down the palace halls, a book in hand as I hastily made my way to my chambers from the library. I do nothing but study and ace all my tests, yet only ever hear praise from Odin about Thor, I grumbled.

Nearly every night I was forced to sneak out here, not just to learn as much as I could about magic that there was to know, but to excel even beyond Thor in all other subjects, since he was, disappointingly, the only other person in my private classes.

But despite how much I knew, father never acknowledged me like he did my brother.

"He expects me to have so many friends, and be so excited to train, all the while he keeps me locked up in here with a million things to study in lessons with only one other person!" I thought aloud, oddly aggravated at the time. I suppose it was never the studying that bothered me... just Thor. And Odin, of course... why can't that fool understand that I'm not a gigantic muscular buffoon that lives off of meat?! Is that all that Asgard really values in a person? You'd think I wasn't even from here...

I suddenly felt the floor beneath me shake, looking outside to see the bifrost being activated. Who could still be out there now? Thor's at home, and there's no way he could've snuck out, even if he wanted to. Heimdall would be there to stop him.

Even though I was rather tired after such a long night of reading, my curiosity got the better of me, my legs acting faster than my better judgement could. I ran outside, dropping the story I'd picked up from the library somewhere near my bedroom along the way.

I tried to keep from making too much noise as I flew down the paths to the rainbow bridge. I ducked behind one of the large rocks by the shore, watching as Heimdall exited with a person in his arms. It's, a girl...

I felt my cheeks heat up as I watched him carry the young woman across the bridge, her (s/c) glowing in the dim light of the stars that was reflected off of Heimdall's armour. Her (h/l), (h/c) hair gently flowed off his arms, bouncing with every step he took.

Heimdall continued on his way towards the castle as I quietly followed behind him. Where did she even come fro-

"You are aware I can see you, aren't you?" His deep voice catching me off guard as I stumbled out of my hiding place.

"O-of course," I mumbled, straightening myself up, "who are you bringing into the castle? Was she summoned by Odin? And if so why is she-"

"You ask questions you don't really seek the answer to." Heimdall chuckled. "Besides, why aren't you inside the castle already?"

I adjusted my collar around my neck, feeling a bit sweat build up near my collarbone out of embarrassment. "I-I, was just... out for a walk. I couldn't sleep, and I've circled the palace gardens so many times it's gotten rather... tedious."

Heimdall stared at him suspiciously for a second. "I suppose I'll have to take that as answer then, young prince," He laughed. "This girl is from another realm, and needed assistance, but she seems to have passed out upon using the bifrost. I planned to have her fixed up at the castle before seeing Odin about her situation."

"Alright then," I sighed, nodding. "I'll... make my way back inside then."

Heimdall waved me off as I walked ahead of him, clenching my fists together in annoyance. He won't tell me where she's from... He won't even tell me her name!

I let out another long sigh before picking my book as I arrived at my bedroom. If she's staying here, I'll have more time to see her later... perhaps I should pay her a visit.

She was, after all, rather pleasing to the eye.
