Juuzou's POV

I awoke feeling kind of better, but it was still the same deep down. The squeaking of the old metal table's wheels being hauled over to my bed caused my to open an eyelid, before fully sitting up.

I looked over to see the usual nurse bringing me my breakfast, but these past couple of days I didn't have much of an appetite.

"Now Suzuya, it's been 6 days and you've only drank some water and ate 1 cookie. Eat up now, this isn't good for you at all," the elder nurse said as she pushed up her classes, her closed wrinkly eyes still showing her concern and discomfort.

I looked away at the ground and began to think, something that wasn't new. Thinking about where's the closest corner shop to buy a new pack of crayons. Or maybe colors pencils, an upgra-

"Also, if you take at least 3 bites of the rice, I'll give you some good news now."

She stared at me, her hands on her hips as the morning sun shined if her glasses. Despite being a hunched over old granny she was kind of intimidating.

I looked to my left at the tray, and the glass bowl filled with rice, and before I even looked up I grabbed it and took 1 quick spoonful, accidentally overfilling the amount my mouth could handle.

I placed my hand over my mouth as I chewed, making sure I didn't make a large mess of rice escaping.

"Goodness boy," she chuckled as she still stood and watched.

Turns out I was kinda hungrier than expected.

I then proceeded to repeat that 2 more times, except the spoonfuls being smaller.

As I swallowed down the last of the rice, the lady began to speak.

"Well, the CCG, Commission counter ghoul, have decided to fund a large portion of their money into people whom fought in the Owl Suppression Operation and came out with some sort of disability or large hospital bill. This is only happening for 1 year and 6 months for the more, long term affected people." silence surrounded us before she than continued on.

"What this also means is that they will be getting people who experience something like you with your leg, or worse, prosthetics. Your prosthetic arrived 3 days ago, but we still needed to do some testing with it to reassure it is stable. I'll be bringing you your leg prosthetic in about 4 hours, when it becomes mid afternoon."

"That's kinda long, why not now?" I questioned impatiently. Moving around on a wheelchair sure was becoming a bother.

"I need to deliver prosthetics to other patients whose arrived before yours. Be patient Suzuya," she replied.

I let out a slight huff. I guess I'll just hang around in the garden.

After breakfast, I picked up my sketchbook and old worn down crayons and began to wheel my way towards the garden, focusing forwards and ignoring everyone that surrounded me. I decided to take a break from visiting Shinohara just for today. It felt painful, a foreign feeling I hadn't felt in so long that it needed adjusting to.

Once I reached the large garden I took a seat on the bench, and began flipping to a new page in my sketchbook. Once I did, I glanced around in an attempt to find a good thing to draw. I wanted it to be an animal, something alive with emotion.

Like a person.

They can be happy, sad, mad. It was always so foreign and exotic to watch a person displaying their emotions in their actions.

I seemed to do the same, but that was only with negative intentions, apparently.

I felt a quick small feeling, like being pinched. I looked down at my hand resting in my lap to see a red ant crawling on my arm.
