It's been a while
Since they came,
Thoughts, you'd call them,
But for me,
They were monsters,
Monsters that killed all of my will,
Monsters that ate all of my happiness,
Monsters that broke my confidence,
Monsters that destroyed me.
It's been a while,
And I had almost thought they had vanished,
But how wrong I was,
They came rushing back,
Stronger than ever before,
Hit me harder than ever before,
Tore me into pieces, smaller than before,
Suffocated me,
Took me closer to death than ever before.
It's been a while,
Since I learnt to fake a smile,
But before I could master that,
They came back,
And I can't fake it anymore.
It's been a while,
Since I learnt to bury my true feelings,
And enliven the fake ones,
But before the burial was finished,
They woke up,
And I can't hold them back anymore.
It's been a while,
Since I ignored you,
And learnt how foolish I was to do that,
And came running back faster than I left,
Will you still accept me?
Cause if you won't,
I don't know anywhere else to go.
