*two weeks later*

It's nearing the end of June. I finished my last GCSE exam last week and prom was a couple of days ago. Life is good. ~Navi

The last couple of weeks have been crazy to say the least, but crazy in a good way, if there is such a thing. My Mum decided it would be best if we have a trial stay in Australia until the end of August. At least that way, if it doesn't work out, I'll have the chance to go to college here in England.  Will flew out to Sydney last week to prepare for his new job and to make living arrangements for us. Since he's a music producer he has some pretty big connections in just about every corner of the world, so it's safe to say we'll be living our best lives.

I reach down to grab a floral white bardot top from the wreck that is my bedroom floor. I pulled practically every item of clothing I have out from my wardrobe to try on, but I'm not having much luck. I've done some research and the average temperature in Sydney in July and August is basically the same as the temperature here in those same months, which I think is ridiculous since it's summer here in England and Winter there in Australia. So I'm struggling with what to pack because I don't want to be the person that's wearing shorts while everyone else complains that it's too cold.

"Looks like I'm gonna have to go shopping" I whisper to myself. At that same moment there's a knock on my bedroom door.

"Guess who's here sit on your suitcase and claim all the clothes you don't want anymore!" Maeve, my best friend, enters my room with an iced drink in her hand, sun glasses on her head, and a huge grin on her face.

I embrace her in a hug then gesture to the destruction on the floor. "Take what you want, it's a free for all" I chuckle.

"That bad huh?" She questions while tip toeing over to my bed and examining the practically empty suitcase laying on top of the sheets.

"You have no idea" I sigh.

"Well, let's start with that top," she nods to the white bardot in my hands, "It's cute. You'll be pulling all the boys over there." She adds.

I laugh and then say "Pff, hardly!" My eyes drift over to my full length mirror in the corner of my room. Long dark brown hair that doesn't know whether it's straight or curly and a 'less than average face', as told to me by my crush in year 9. Yep, still not over it. The only definable feature I have are my eyes - they're a golden brown colour and can look semi-interesting in the sun. Other than that I'm just a 5'2 16 year old girl with the build of a breadstick.

Maeve begins to sense my self doubt and chimes, "babe you're peng, don't worry, the surfer dudes will be ALL OVER YOU."

I smile, "What would I do without you?"

"Well you'd be packing your suitcase by yourself for a start." She smirks and we get on with packing together.
