*you wake up in the morning in Zach's bed but he's not there, so you look at the time and it's 3am but you can't sleep so you go downstairs to get water and as you walk down the stairs you see someone sitting on the couch crying, as you get closer you realize that it's jake*
y/n- jake
jake- hi y/n
y/n- what's wrong
jake- y/n i got a text from your mom, and it's about emily's cancer
y/n- jake tell me
jake- they did a scan today and the cancer hasn't grown, but it hasn't shrunk either
y/n- what's that mean
jake- that means they can operate but
y/n- but what
jake- they said that she might be paralyzed after surgery or she might not make it out, chances of it working are very low so emily decided against it
y/n- wha-
jake- they told her that with the cancer where it's located she will have two months until she starts to lose vision and her ability to walk
*you cry and it must've been really loud because you feel Zach wrap his arms around you and you hear all the boys behind you and jake telling them what happened. you don't know what to think right now*
z- i'm here y/n
*Zach wipes the tears off of your face*
z- you're gonna be okay
y/n- no i'm not
*you get up and run to Zach's room and lock the door. you hear Zach knock*
z- please let me in
y/n- Zach i'm crying right now
z- y/n please
y/n- why
z- because i know i can help
y/n- how
z- by taking you home to emily
*you unlock the door and Zach wraps you up his his arms and you just break, you cry the hardest you've cried in a while. mainly because you feel safe with him. you feel him kiss the top of your head and then rest his head on yours*
z- you remember when you told me to treat you normally and be mean to you
*you nod your head and then snuggle back into his arms*
z- yea well that is not going to happen because y/n i don't know what you're doing to me but i know that i'm going to protect you and do everything i can to make you smile when you don't think you can
*you just cry harder and you kiss him on the cheek*
z- i have an idea
*he tries to let go of you but you just hold on, so he picks you up and carry's you over to his bed and covers you up with blankets, and he runs out of the room leaving you laying there by yourself. he comes back a minute later with a half gallon of chocolate ice cream, and two spoons. he sits down next to you and gives you a spoon you sit there cuddling him, crying, and eating ice cream*
