"Chief!" Nixon exclaimed coming through the door. "We're pulling out."
"I'm coming," Marco said picking up his phone. He dialed his wife's nunber but got no answer. He tried again and got her answering machine. Beads of sweat rolled down his face and his heart was racing. He started feeling sick and the room was spinning.
"Chief," he heard someone shout. "Sir are you okay?" they said a while later.
"My family," he began. "They suppose to be on that train. This can't be happening," he stuttered holding back tears and dropping in his seat.
"We don't know which train was in the crash. We don't even know how bad the accident is. The only way to find out is to go down there and help those people," Nixon said with assurance.

Marco stood and shaked his head. He grabbed his hat and they headed through the door.
Arriving on the scene Marco could see the huge blaze. If anyone survived the wreckage they sure would have been lucky. His men got to work on trying to out it but to no avail.
"Something is feeding that fire. No amount of water can contain it!" one firefighter shouted.
"Investigate who was on the both trains," Chief Police Officer Swatson said to his assistant.
"I need to know if my wife was on that train," Marco said to him.
"What's her name?"
"It is my whole family. They're registered under Ronnie Rodriguez."
"Okay. We'll have a check."

Marco turned his attention back to his officers who were struggling to keep the fire under control. The collison had caused a ripple effect and because it was inside tunnel the fire was building up pressure. All his officers could do was stand by and watch and wait until whatever was causing it to blaze so much had died down.
Nightfall had met them and the blaze was starting to subside. They used the water to finish it off quickly and when it was safe enough rescuers and lab techs rushed in.
"Chief," Officer Swatson called.
"Please tell me they missed the train," Marco pleaded.
"I'm afraid I can't. A family of five registered under that name boarded this train. I'm sorry."

Marco went numb. The tears welled up and he felt like he couldn't breath. The air around him was not enough. He dropped to his knees covering his face with his hands and screaming 'why'. Nixon ran to his side along with other officers to comfort him. Marco felt weak. He felt defeated. The world was spinning once again and this time he couldn't stop it. The last thing he heard was his name before everything went dark.

"Do you want to go home and come back?" a nurse asked Nixon who hadn't left Marco's side since the incident.
"I'll pass," he simply said throwing his glance to Marco on the bed.
Marco twitched in the bed and slowly opened his eyes. He heard muffled voices and saw blurry.

"He's awake," he heard a familiar voice say.
"Chief, can you hear me?" Nixon asked as he got up and leaned over the bed.
Marco slowly raised his hands to see what was holding his fingers. He looked around and saw light everywhere. Nurses and doctors voices could be heard. The announcements through the PA system confirmed that he indeed was in a hospital.
Then he remembered why and his monitor spiked sending him into cardiac arrest.
