Chapter 2
"Elena, saan ka mag-aaral sa college?" my friend, Jenny, asked me. I grew up in the province, my life is in the province. My family is here in the province. Pero ang plano ko talaga at ng family ko kapag magcocollege na ako, sa city na ako. And that excites me.
But now, since Jonas will stay here in the province... I want too.
"Baka dito lang sa probinsya"
"Kala ko balak mo mag-city girl?" Sabi ni Audrey.
"Eh dito kasi si Jonas eh. Parang mahirap maglong distance relationship"
"So pagpapalit mo pangarap mo para don sa Jonas?" Lea said.
"Hindi naman sa ganon--"
"Oo nga Elena. Achaka, bakit di mo maiwan iwan yang Jonas na yan? Ke pangit pangit nga ng ugali ng bwisit na yon" sabi naman ni Jovy.
Sila ang mga kaibigan ko.
Jenny, the smart one. Studious, tall, pretty, every guys dream. But never had a boyfriend, wala daw siyang balak. But lately, she's curious what's the feeling of having a boyfriend. She's the friend na open minded, na kahit anong sabihin mo, magegets niya and she will come up with solutions of your problem... in a mature way. Oh yes, she's the most matured in our group.
Audrey, the reckless girl. She's like the 'black sheep' in the group. She already learn how to smoke when we were in 2nd year. Lots of exes, never get serious. Ah! I remember, she did get serious with Patrick, but unfortunately.. he cheated on her. Audrey is the 'party person', but she's is kind. She's always on the go whenever we have plans. Not the talkshit one.
Lea, the secretive. Why? We don't know much of her life. Only, who are her parents, where does she live, all the simple things. Sometimes her problems, but not all the time. She never opened up to anyone, except to me.
And lastly, Vianca, the typical. Average girl who has an average grades, average grades. Just the typical one. Happy-go-lucky, and she's one of my favorite. Oops. Don't tell to anyone, kiddin'. Well everyone loves Vianca and she's just 'meh' with those things. She's the person na sabay sa uso lagi, mostly in fashion and gadgets.
"Dude, I saw you guys fighting nung isang araw. El, tama na."
"Do you think so?"
"Gaano na ba kayo katagal?" I count the months. Today is March 26. Last 3 weeks before graduation.
"1 year and a month"
"Oh, pwede na iyon. El, nakapasa ka sa school na gusto mo sa city diba? Well known school din iyon. Madaming hindi nakakapasok doon, don't tell me aatrasan mo iyon para sa lalaking iyon?" Vianca said.
