I've been sitting next to Kris staring at my phone for I don't know how long when I feel her nudge my shoulder. I turn to see her staring at me, "You haven't heard a word I've said in the last five minutes, have you? What's going on Kat Bat? You look lost." She looks at me with a worried expression and I give her a small smile to ease the worry that's clear in her eyes. "I have this new client, his name is Wyatt Parker." At this, I heard a loud gasp from where she was and when I looked at her, she had this surprised excited look on her face. "What? Why are you gasping?" She rolled her eyes and huffed then gave me this look like I was an idiot. "How can you ask me why I'm gasping? The question is why aren't you? Don't you know who Wyatt Parker is?" I roll my eyes and shake my head, "Obviously not since I didn't gasp like a big idiot."

"No need to be rude, missy. I was just asking." She pretends to pout because she knows I can't take her whenever she gives me the puppy dog eyes. Rolling my eyes and sighing I give her forehead a light slap and get up to get more food. "You know your phone has been lighting up for like the last five minutes. Why don't you just see what it is?" I walk back to the couch shaking my head, "I know what it is. It's Parker, he sent an email but I don't want to open it."

"Why not?"

"Because I haven't emailed him yet, so he shouldn't be emailing me."

"You're being illogical. Maybe he's emailing to confirm something or ask a question about something. Open the email and respond. Stop being silly." She looks at me for what feels like forever before I see her eyes widen and she gasps.

"What? Why are you gasping now?" I walk over to see what the problem is when I notice that she's opened the email from Parker. Snatching the phone out of her hands I glance at the screen. "Looks like Mr. Tall, Dark, and Recluse wants to get down already." she says waggling her eyebrows up and down. "Cut it out, you child. I don't think it's anything like what you're thinking. He just wanted to have lunch tomorrow to discuss the plans, but I didn't think it was a good idea."

"Why not? Don't you think you're being a little extra right now? How are you going to effectively start doing your job if you aren't willing to socialize with the man at all? It looks like Mr. Man wants to turn lunch into dinner anyway.", she said slyly.

"What? What are you talking about?" I look back at the screen and start reading his email. Looks like Kris is right, according to this email something came up so he's asking to switch the lunch to dinner. Somehow conveniently forgetting the fact that I still never said yes to any request he made earlier.

Should I just reiterate to this man that I never agreed to have lunch or anything after lunch at all? "I'm just gonna answer him and tell him no because I never agreed to anything. That won't be rude, right?" I look up to see Kris giving me the evil eye. "What? What did I do now? How is saying no wrong Kris?"

"Why would turn down this guy? He seems like a nice, normal enough person, plus he's rich and handsome. I don't get what the issue is? Besides, don't you think meeting casually will help your job since you do have to get personal with the man? You're basically going to be his best friend. Stop being difficult and extra, you can still be able to maintain some sort of professionalism, you're very good at your job. Unless...for some reason you don't think you can continue to be professional with this man, hmm?"

"I don't know what you're talking about, so shut up. I'll just email him and say yes. Are you happy now?"

"What, like in general? Because yes."

"You're absolutely sickening. This is not going to turn into some cliché love story, plus he isn't even my type. Remember?"

I hear her scoff then say "How would you even know what your type is? When's the last time you had any kind of interaction with a man?" I open my mouth to answer when she interrupts me, "romantic interaction, listen to the emphasis on the word romantic." Rolling my eyes I turn and head back into the kitchen. I swear my eyes are going to be permanently lodged in the back of my skull because of this girl. This is like the fifth time I've rolled my eyes in five minutes. "For your information Ms. Nuffeesha I've been on plenty dates in the last year, so kindly close your mouth. When was the last time you had any kind of "romantic" interaction with a man?
