Slenderman's P. O. V.

I woke up with Kathryn sleeping on my shoulder. I still don't understand why I let her do that. This girl is turning me upside down. Feelings like protection and careness came through me. I saw how she swiftly clunged to my arm, breathing softly. Her skin was perfectly smooth and her hair was glistening with dew drops that fell from the tree that we are below of. A strand of hair fell onto her face, ruining her image. With one of my tentacles, I put it behind her ear. As I do this, I see once again her left shoulder's scar. It seemed inimaginable that anyone could dare to harm this girl. But they're humans. A quick glance to their history would make that scar normal to any person. But not for me. I swore to myself that, if Henry or anyone tried to hurt her again, they would be torn into pieces. I felt a slight movement of her arm. Then, she moved her head on my shoulder and hugged my arm tightly. I almost flinched at this, but stayed still. After some seconds, she opened her eyes, wild in shock. She looked at me and then her arm hugging mine. She blushed a little bit and, while taking away her arm, she said

-I am so sorry. It won't happen again. (Kate)

She seemed embarrassed. I chuckled a little bit and said

-What were you dreaming of?

-I... thought you were my mother in my dream. Sorry. I was so stupid. (Kate)

-Don't call yourself like that. You are far more intelligent than anyone else. Except for one thing. (Slender)

-Thank you. But, to what thing are you referring to? (Kate)

-To have the courage to trust me. (Slender)

-You are right. I trust you. But I don't think it's a mistake. (Kate)

-You should. (Slender)

We remained silent, but my instinct made me say

-Kathryn? (Slender)

-Yes? (Kate)

-I would like us to be friends. (Slender)

-Me too. But with one condition. (Kate)

-What? (Slender)

-Call me Kate from now on. Kathryn makes me feel too old. (Kate)

She chuckles a little bit and I chuckle too.

-Thank you. (Slender)

-No problem. Now, you're my first official friend. (Kate)

-An honour. (Slender)

We both chuckle again and she says

-Well, Mr. Friend, we should do friend stuff. (Kate)

-To what things are you referring to? (Slender)

-First of all, to know each other. (Kate)

-We already did that. (Slender)

-No. I was the only one who shared her past. Why don't you tell me your story? (Kate)

-It is not a pretty story to hear about. (Slender)

-Neither was mine. I opened to you. Now, you should do the same. (Kate)

-Why should I do that? (Slender)

-Because, in that way, we'll build confidence; an important friendship block. (Kate)

-You win. (Slender)

She sat closer to me, like a child ready for a good-night story. I proceeded

-Promise that, after this, you will judge me fairly. (Slender)

She nodded, so I continued

-Kate, I wasn't always like this. I was once human. I don't remember my name or anything before my transformation. But She told me part of my past; what was convenient for me to know and nothing else. I had brown, short hair, pale skin, honey eyes, and measured almost 1.80. I lived a normal life, like anyone else. I lived a happy life. Until She came. She was named Megan Port, a girl with red, frizzy hair, pale skin, and red eyes. She said her eyes were that way because of a disease. She became close to me, to the point of marriage. When we agreed to be joined forever until death separated us, she took my soul. I woke in this forest with this form. I saw her, but totally changed; her skin turned wrinkled and her lips broken. She was horrible. She told me that she made a deal with the Devil. She gave my soul in exchange of power. But, as you can say, Devil always plays tricks. Without her knowing, he took her beauty. But that didn't matter to her. Since then, I've been her puppet to kill, murder, and drive people insane. But, even though my soul took away my feelings, I feel bad every day of my life. Knowing that the person you were gonna give everything to was just manipulating you... hurts. A lot. It's like living in Hell. (Slender)

She seemed astonished, but said

-I understand you. That happened to me when Henry was a good dad and then turned into a monster. To be put down by an important person breaks you. (Kate)

-Thank you, friend. (Slender)

-You are welcomed, friend. (Kate)

She hugged my arm and I hugged her around her back with my tentacle. The day passed and we were back to sleep.
